I couldn't believe just how much there was wedged in there. Didn't see the mouse though luckily. Yes the burner is nice just need to fill in the huge hole now haha. It pulls well. Now the fireplace is in more plastering I think is in order. Trying to do farmwork when it's dry and indoor things when it rains 🤗🤗🤗 what's the weather over there?

@@escapetothequinta Looking at 5 degrees at night at the moment...so cold mornings🥶 but during the day it's okay-ish when the sun comes out. Yeah, plastering behind the fireplace sounds like a good plan. Never saw anyone putting up a fluke in the night though hahahaha Did you manage to get pump going in the end, or is still on the to-do list??

@escapetothequinta Yes, that's exactly what they use. I'm outside of Cape Town for now, but I plan on moving to Europe next year. I have yet to decide where but plan on being there and seeing what is available for that.👍❤️

@@escapetothequinta cast iron is the best, with a good fitting lid. Also kettle for hot water. Having the wood stove can be quite drying, so if you have a water pot on the stove top it moisturises quite well. Also a fantastic place to hang wet washing overnight. On a clothes horse of course. I wanted the pipe to be hidden and also it would be too hot this room is so insulated any more heat would melt us haha even with a bit of kindling it's super warm. Need to sort out the big hole around it now haha. Great idea with the gloves thankyou. That's exactly my idea with the outhouse make a little sort of box to house the boiler and the pump and to insulate the pump to make it a little quieter as it's not super silent to say the least haha.
