Aw thank you so much! I have been toying with the idea of a mid week video but I think I may save that until we get to 10,000 subscribers as it is a lot of work and really we could do with another camera but it's good to have goals right. The boards are lovely aren't they and ended up only being 2 euros each which was a good deal. I think it will cost us 100 euros to clad the whole building 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 have a lovely weekend Tricia

Great Job Guys!!! Recommend adding 2 more upright posts on your long wall as the spacing you have now is going to want to bow in and out as they dry. Also make sure you put 2 screws (Don't scrimp on using longer screws) per board in each post and on the flooring as well or you will get lots of cupping in the boards. Keep up the good work and attitudes!!!

No plans, we have a few friends that have done this and as long as the roof is water tight it works quite well...... We hope hahah

Use a good quality membraine/vapour barrier... And half decent overlap...... cos if they are green they will shrink a lot ... Good fastenings to the frame or they will try and twist... And at least 16inches between frame uprights... Your both doing well....... 👍

Hi Dave, great job. I think you should have put a vapor barrier up before doing the boards but if you're not adding insulation it should be fine... Until the boards shrink and the wild starts and come out of the shower :)

Hahah there's always that risk I think for now we will see how it shrinks then we can always either drop the boards or maybe cob the gaps but your right it is something I have been wondering about hahah

Yeah it's going to be like an outhouse washroom until we begin on the barn. Luckily compared to where I'm from Portugal winters are super mild but yes I think it will be a bit chilly hahahha ooooo yes if love to plant pumpkins but I've tried a few times and failed maybe it'll work here in Portugal 🙏🤗🤗🤗

Nice job with the fava beans. The casing or skins of the fava beans are very delicious, like green beans just make sure to remove the 2 lines, strings or veins on each side before cooking them. 😊

Next year when we grow some I'm going to try it!!!! It basically means we get twice the food from the crop which is awesome. I'm actually going to check if you can grow favas at this time of year too however it may be too hot now. I really like them so could be a great staple food to have in jars to rehydrate and put in soups and stews 🙏🙏🙏🙏🤗 thanks for the advice means a lot

You need to fix more upright studs between your main posts, the loglap will warp and twist as maximum distance between the studs should be 600 mm, ideally 450 mm, fixing just one screw in the floorboards will cause them to cup you really need 2, just trying to help.

Yeah hoping there's not so much shrinkage but if there's is I can maybe undo the screws and let it all from down and rescrew maybe and add an extra board perhaps

The gaps in that cut of planking will allow access to mice and rats, as another Portugal off grid channel discovered. Need to find a way of closing the gaps.

Yeah I saw this. Luckily were not cladding the inside so we're not making a void but I know what you mean I think I'll give them a fortnight to dry in the sun and then drop them all down to stop the gaps and may need to add an extra one at the top of that makes sense hahah 🙏🤗

The favas need that small cut nail removed before been cooked google "favas a portuguesa" how to cook thems favas are amazing and if you gonna have horses you will need more, now to kept the seed you have to let the plant die with time the outside cover must be dark and drier then you remove from the plant and put them on sun in October you open the outside cover and the seed is inside and favas sometimes give 3 times flower and crop next year aftes olive picking move the soil you not need compost to favas and seed them on soil make later some poles because wind I tell this because mine grow 1.5 meters high and they not need water favas and grão are the most easy cultivations

Wow we can't wait to make all the different recipes with them. I fried some off with onions and garlic and it was amazing. I would love to make migas and put them in that as I love that. I literally bought another box of about 100 seeds from agriloja about 10 minutes ago as I want to plant more haha. Will they do well in summer! Thankyou so much 🙌🙏🤗🤗🤗
