Sorry to say that but you're totally wrong. Professional cinematographers and videographers alike have always been using a viewfinder, there is a reason why.
@itmeremyСағат бұрын
@diakoumo none of that makes me wrong. Yes, viewfinders have their place, especially with camcorders and larger cinema cameras, but for smaller cameras like this that are only being used for video, having a built in viewfinder on the body like a photo camera, wouldn't really do anything to make the FX30 better
@diakoumo45 минут бұрын
@@itmeremy You made a bold statement that "it doesn't need one". There is a number of cases where a pro needs a viewfinder no matter what the size of the camera is. It's a pro camera so I believe you're wrong, in a friendly manner.
@itmeremy32 минут бұрын
@diakoumo I don't believe it needs one, if you want one, get a different camera, there's plenty of photo-style cameras with viewfinders, but I personally don't use the viewfinder on my a7IV, and it doesn't make sense on a camera like that if you're rigging it out, which is partially why the FX30 is built like it is

One question, if the surface of full frame glass is larger, how does it affect the camera stabilisation? I mean does it remove the jitters as the sensor is smaller than the glass?
@itmeremyКүн бұрын
@Mraz75 I don't think that would be impacted by this at all. Smaller sensors are generally more easily stabilised than larger ones, but the lens wouldn't really affect it unless the lens has optical stabilisation

@@itmeremy Thats really useful info Remy. Much appreciated. I've already got a tonne of monitors. Pretty sure one of them will have this useful feature. I bought the Pyro S system a couple of weeks ago. I'm generally happy with it so far although i haven't used it too much. One of my issues with it so far is the banding it produces on the receiving monitor. The image is great apart from that, but i am a tag disappointed with the banding. Have you experienced anything like this? Or maybe it's just a cable isse! Although i've swapped out the cable for both SDi and HDMI, so.... Anyway, would appreciated your thoughts if you have any on this issue. Thanks again Remy. (have subscribed)

@Longdancer fair enough, and as far as I know, that banding is a side effect of the compression for the wireless transmission, and I don't think you'll get around it without getting a much higher-end system like a Teradek. All for $268?!? And I got mine on Black Friday for $214?! Nothing else sub $500 touches it and 6" is the best size monitor for on camera. I already have 5" and 7" monitors, love the 7" monitor for tripod use only and 5" is good for gimbal and handheld but a little small to judge focus and fine detail, 6" makes that easier.

But what happens when the hydraulics fail? They never last forever? Are they going to replace it when it fails inside of a year or two? If not you're out 800 bucks. Also with no extra mounting screws for the head besides the main mounting screw to secure it from twisting off, that is a definite design flaw. At this price point they should have included that. So Smallrig Tripods and Heads are now a no go for me. I had different head and it ran into the unscrewing issue with the panning motion.

@steve_arcenio absolutely, long cables can be quite annoying
@gillesmatheronpro22 күн бұрын
Rémy, you are spot on here ! I see this double recording function very useful on set, just for that synchronisation possibility you mention. Because, even if something fails there is always a great quality 24 bits / 48 kHz track recorded internally by the camera. And montage softwares will have no troubles matching those exactly identical soundtracks with absolute precision. Many of them have problems because inboard microphones usually pick ambiant sound that lacks definition and volume, making it difficult to identify and match soundwaves. With a proximity microphone (the VM40 mic/transmitter itself) being so close to the sound source and the receiver on the camera getting that exact same sound (only encoding it with a lower bitrate), the "match sound waveforms" shall operate flawlessly. That is the other great idea the folks at Comica have made a reality... bravo !
@gillesmatheronpro22 күн бұрын
And operaters ( = we) use their time effectively ! Instead of coiling/uncoiling cables for hours... in a month, this is what we do for real even though we tend not to realize it. ☝️😔 That is so precious, in an era where we are sometimes asked to either cut corners or lower prices.
