Even with nothing on the line, a compelling show regardless!! Lots of advancement by sheer luck even past the first round of racing kept the action fresh and unpredictable Amazing how shallow the angle is in these Spool Heads open turns and the cars travel as if lateral acceleration is just an opinion of physics! While the hobby is still dominated by the higher angle of attack in Crash Racers turns, along with the needed speed to carry through them, this design appears to lend so much flexibility available to different pacing by track builders. I can't ignore how *hilarious* it is to see the tiny wheel based cars weeble and wobble their way through the laned portions!! I see a survival series in the future featuring those tiny racers on this track! 😂 TTC, thanks for being a big part of the racing on this Friday 💯😎🏁

Glad ya working it out. Track tuning is an attempt to control chaos so any efforts to get to a better place deserves all of the 🙌🏽! I think most Diecast Racers have learned to be patient with tournaments so don’t worry about us! Fulfill your vision and find the potential of the track. In the end you’re releasing rounds that you’re proud of and show builders exactly what they brought to the table. 😅🤘🏼

Hey Nick, great stuff! I really appreciate seeing behind the scenes!! Well done! Yep I am with you for the continual testing, tuning, rechecking the track to get it where you want it to be! But, I can also change hats (perspective) and look at it from a builders racers view, in what do I need to do well on this track?! First I will go back in time to a Diecast Race mate DJ Tripple J from CA. He had a really long fast sizzler track. What really upset him, was cars spinning round continually as we have seen on his track, early 3D Fat Track and early Hot Car Track. He put his mind to it, tested, tested, and came up with a comppund tyre, (sort of like whats on a sizzler car) that fits on the outside of the rear tyre, either one side or both. He called it Blackfire tyres. He sent a number of us diecast racers tyres to test, race with. I spent time using different methods of attaching to the rear wheels, used 1 tyre, two tyres, and also did comparitive drag speed tests. I also developed my own tyre/compund. But fat track race tracks have largely disappeared for main stream racing and as you point out the Adventure Force open 2 lane track largely controls the cars. Did the tyres work? Hell yes, the cars went around the corners in a contralled manner, and 95% prevented the cars spinning around backward. Some would say, oh the cars are slower? In short, in absolute straight line speed yes, BUT, as the car with tyres handled the corner better, speed coming out of the corner, and more importantlly, control, is superior. But yes, when "occasionally a super fast well built car with no tyres gets it right, they may record a faster time. An event called Vantastic on Hot Car Track is one location that in racing, highlights how competitive cars with tyres on Fat Track (or indeed other tracks that have slip issues). Quite a few teams had tyres on, and the event was won by a car with tyres on. And the cars looked very controlled compared to most of the normal wheeled cars. The other location that would higlight the handling characteristics wiuld be on Power Drive Racing DJ Tripple J channel, with his outdoor backyard Fat Track. Rustic, yes, but demonstrates the difference a tyre can make. Back to your track, if I were to run there at the moment, my "guess" would be to build a car with 1 tyre fitted to the left hand rear. But it is a little hard to judge how fast your track is from here, which could affect trye performance. (ie slow track) But then it comes all down to testing, developing, the subject of your video. Thanks for the update, cheers, Marc D P.S> If you needed any links etc contact me.
@TinyTrackCars
@TinyTrackCars 10 күн бұрын
@@cutrockr-diecastracing2773 thanks, Marc! I’ll definitely check out a few of those older videos you mentioned. As for speed of this track….. the grade of the track doesn’t change the whole way down. So while it does start of slower (ish) the cars get faster and faster and faster as the my go down since it’s all down hill with no flat areas in turns or anywhere else. So there has to be a balance of not too slow at the beginning, but not to fast at the end.

Tuning this track is a HUGE undertaking! It is hard for some to believe, but control on this track is more complex than Shavano Mountain Raceway. What if the turn entry was a higher banked top third, but the turn exit isn't as steep? Yes, that makes each 180 asymmetric, but it might address both issues you talked about. Would it be possible to create a 3d printable strip of 8 sitting people connected by the strip? This way, you could populate your stands on the side more cost efficiently. The strip could be glued or screwed into the stands. Details of each person aren't necessary since the camera zooms by each time. Just a thought.
