I would really like to see a few more signings. We could still use one more arm in the bullpen and I would really like another right handed bat to platoon with Kepler or Marsh. There are still moves to be made, and we aren't able to reset the tax this year so why not get another big bat.

I think what people need to read into Dave’s comments about being done with the ‘pen is that if Hoffman changes his stance about starting, then the Phils would be in play on reliever money for him. They are not going to pay him starter money because they do not value him in that way.

Relievers are where they are because they're command is volatile from year to year and even half to half. That won't change.

We all knew the 3rd tax threshold was coming. Shouldn't be a shock. Now you have a few options, keep spending or rebuild or number 3, which is sign low cost players that have their salaries doubled just by joining our payroll. I know why they're dipping into the "bargain bin", but we need to improve the bullpen more. We need to get a right handed bat that can rotate with Kepler/Marsh. I really hope there's more to come whether trade or free agent. Edit: not doubling their salaries, but the payroll cost is doubled because of the tax.

Off-season has been played really safe. Essentially just got another whit and another Kimbrel. These moves aren’t a “shake up”. They’re just low risk, high reward pickups that probably would’ve happened regardless. They’re stagnant. Maybe Bohm is just the domino that has to fall but if anything, we got worse (assuming we lose Hoffman)

I think they're being rational. You need a healthy balance to be competitive year after year and we have an impressive array of minor league talent that are on the threshold of .asking it to the bigs. If ANY of those players become legit contributors; you will have saved enough money to redirect it towards another free agent acquisition. As much as I love J.T.; catchers historically don't age well and we will need to address that position in the not so distant future. Hopefully by that time; Crawford and Miller will be major contributors in positions of need. Teams that are in the thick of it year after year have a healthy mix of young talent and veteran leadership.

If we bring back Alec Bohm it will either go one of two ways A he will increase his stock even more and play like he did in the first half of last season or B with his fragile mindset he won't be able to focus and his stock will continue to plummet and he will continue to be unplayable like how he was in the postseason. It would be a huge gamble because if option B does occur then we can do nothing with him and not trade him for anything. In my opinion, by the time spring training comes you have to trade him for something even if it's not what you wanted. This lineup offensively one through nine is not good enough and I don't think with another year it's going to get any better.

Weirdly enough I find this already a pretty successful offseason. Just need to add 1 more star arm in the bullpen. Starting rotation elite and lineup is still great
