All-star starter means NOTHING to other teams. Starters are voted in by FANS. Yes, Bohm deserved to be an all-star, but would he have been if it was up to players or coaches? Probably not. Dave is asking too much, and of course, if he got a great package for him we'd be thrilled, but if he gets nothing and this team remains the same because of his greed or because he overvalued Bohm, then what? He needs to pull the trigger on something. But I do believe it's still incredibly early in the off-season. The fact that so many guys have already signed is pretty crazy.

Phillies payroll is maxed already. They really need to hope that some of their younger ballplayers come through and the vetrans have solid seasons. Even if we get rid of prospects we can't afford what we might get in return.

The A's would get an everyday player, an all star who was injured during the latter part of the season for a pitcher who will be used for 1 inning maybe three rimes a week and that trade is deemed unserious by basebaall gurus. But he isnt a top tiered player either. A lot of guys are All Stars there is one from every team. He got benched at the most important time of year, is rumored to have attitude issues and isnt very productive. 13 hrs for a third baseman? Guys like those are all over the league. You arent going to get a major player for someone you guys are trying to dump. Lets be real. You might get a SP three for him at best. You can pick up other guys just about as good for cheaper.
