Thanks so much for this. I live only 10 miles from Canterbury but I’m housebound now. It’s great to walk vicariously in my native county.

I don't know how or why but I came across your videos in 2023. I am in Street, Somerset, working for a summer school and the landscape seems to be quite similar to what I see and experience every day here. I am not British myself, but you certainly gave me some inspiration to explore British countryside. I love your outlook in life. Hope you are doing well in life.

Oxney Bottom woods are said to be haunted by a ghostly “Grey Lady”…… Walked through there in 1978, at 2am, (with 3 friends), and we heard a most peculiar non-human but non-animal noise that made sure we walked a whole lot faster! Never heard anything like it, before or since……

I discovered Reculver in 1987. I was touring the UK using Roman ruins as an itinerary. It's nice to see Reculver has become more of a destination site. I was there on a July afternoon in 1987 and I had ruins all to myself. I had no idea of the reputation of the ruins prior to visiting them, but I came away with the impression that the place had issues.

"I meet very few people on my walks and I like this feeling of isolation." I'm the same, the less humans I see the better. I thought it was just me and my introversion, but it seems to be a common sentiment among walkers in general. I'm surprised more people don't spend their weekends exploring the countryside but I'm glad they don't.

Most people would have been shaken by that kind of situation but you managed it really well Hannah and such a useful insight that continuing to walk afterwards helped you deal with it much better than if you hadn’t. The rawness and vulnerability of that moment will resonate with a lot of people. I have to admit that every time I see a dog off the lead bounding over to me my heart sinks a little.

Loved your journey through Chipping Campden, Moreton in the Marsh and Slaughters, I lived in the Cotswolds as a child and now live in NZ. Brought back beautiful memories. I used to return each year and stay in Woodstock. Miss those beautiful English villages.

Do litter picks with my son y wife . It really is everywhere… the motorways. Grass verges are an absolute mess. It’s also at the grass near roundabouts. Hate it . Highways England could y should be more proactive on the motorways.

Well done, keep up the good work. Our planet is too precious to allow nature to drown in our rubbish. I litter pick every day in my part of Liverpool. It’s depressing to see so much litter but after clearing you have a great sense of satisfaction, a job well done. My local council provides strong free bags and litter pickers if you ask. I’ve also an arrangement with one of the council workers who empties the street bins, to collect the rubbish after I collect from our local park. Easier than carrying home! It’s also worth buying a litter hoop to keep the bag open especially on windy days. Thank you to all litter pickers who make our world a better place.

6 miles is not very far. They look like they are too big so what do they feel like with the wrinkles? Would they give you blisters on a longer hike? I generally hike 20-25 miles or 10-15 in wet snow (slush) and I suppose KZbin promoted this to me because I had done searches on these types of socks last week.

The local villagers recently ACKNOWLEDGED knowing about the tree. They didn't suddenly discover anything. I was there in March of 2003 when the two massive limbs had not yet fallen off. The owner of the Fredville Estate, Mr. John Plumptree (no joke) invited me to meet him at the Royal Oak Pub (now defunct) across the street from the entrance to his estate. He then took me across the street to see the tree. Legend has it that King Charles I hid from Cromwell's army in an oak tree located nearby and the sign of the Royal Oak Pub showed the king in the branches of an oak tree. Given the proximity of this tree, the implication is that this is that same tree. Yes, the occupants of the pub pretended to have NO IDEA what tree I was referring to. It is MUCH older than 500 years. Documents dating from Elizabethan times refer to an ancient oak on this property, and it takes 200 years just for an oak to reach maturity, meaning the oak is at least 700 years old and probably closer to 900.
