How far away is the charge controller from the actual wind turbine?

I'm a little bummed with mine. Bought it new January 2017 and just went to use it for the first time on September 2019. Drilled one 1/2" through 4" of concrete and motor started smelling hot. On the second hole, it really started smoking a lot...like a deep, slow draw on a fine cigar. After that, she just stopped. I'm guessing factory defect, but we'll see. I have 15-18 of the other 18volt stuff and have never had any issues with quite a bit of use. Hopefully, Ryobi will stand behind that "3 year warranty" and make good on this.

I wouldn't even use a break , only for serviceing the turbine , use a large resistor, or something , to keep the heat out of the turbine!!

A up bud, I have a very smokey 2007 1.3tdci on startup, however ones it’s ran for about 30 seconds (the time it takes to nail the wife) it’s cleared, and it runs sound, there is no more smoke until it’s left 2 hours or more,, now I’m not complaining about having to nail the wife for 30 seconds every morning but I am worried about who’s nailing her when she’s leaving work and has to wait for the 30 seconds or so for it to clear,, so will changing the seals cure the problem? If not would you know what else I can do? Or if there is a common fault as I have seen lots of people posting about it but a lot of google mechanics posting solutions. Although no one has given a fix, Cheers 👍

how does installation affect the canbus system?

I have to ask because I do not know. I understand you are putting a stator from thermodyne into an alternator body that has a magnetic rotor from Missouri wind and solar. Did you even check to see if they are compatible? If they are not compatible, (and I do not know why a person would automatically assume they would be), then of course it would not work. I have had car alternators go bad before. Those alternators had nothing to do with Thermodyne or Missouri wind and solar. Stuff does not work forever. I do not own a wind turbine. I am trying to figure out what wind turbine to buy. So I am not a supporter or sniper for either company.

I have a question, Solar panel open-circuit Voltage: 40V Battery 12 V (AGM Controller : PWM controller max input voltage 28V I need to to step down from 40V to 25V and connect to solar charge controller to charge the battery? Will I lose energy in this converter in step down mode? Or the module will convert in to Amps from Voltage while step down? Can i use this module? or any other suggestion? Thanks, Krishnakumar

As an owner of a small wind and solar farm, I can tell you just by watching their you tube adds, Missuri wind and solar is cheap , antiquated junk. You can double the output by using low cost Chinese imports that last longer and pull much more power from nature. And if your new to solar, don't even consider a PWM (pulse width modulation) charge controller. You will get double from Mppt. Buying anything that is "modified sine wave", or PWM is just a waste of money, and damages your household appliances if it is not pure sine wave.
