My friend observed that nobody ever says "this holiday season" unless it's an ad.

So just speculating but is one of the reasons the videographer always uses such an unbelievably bright light to deter these creatures? In their 'world' the size of a glowing eye represents the size of the potential threat, a person walking around with a 30cm brilliant bright light would immediately instil fear into them making them think it's an enormous cyclopean creature. Thus why for the most part they being smaller remain cautious?

I'm pretty sure Tape 6's cross is referencing the Cross of Gaspé, a wooden cross erected at 1534 and replaced with larger granite one on 1934. The og cross was erected in France, which tracks with the later French heavy episode

Isn’t it kind of weird that Jay just didn’t post anything he found at the moment he recorded it? Like he’s had this footage for MONTHS and only just posted it so much later.

So, you're telling me that for the low low price of one carrot, sacrificed to Sam Hain at the witching hour, I get a sick piece of Halloween memorabilia and a VHS full of paranormal, spooky slapstick? Who else is in?

re: the tower of babal the people did know how to communicate with each other other wise they wouldn't have been able to construct the tower since a structure to pierce the heavens would require a lot of coordination between all the builders. so it feels like God made everyone speak different languages to prevent them from coordinating to build another tower bc old testament god hated hubris. (the bible also says as much bc i think god specifically did say (and i paraphrase) that if they can do this then nothing will be impossible so lets confuse them with different languages)

In case anyone is wondering, this series is made using (at least primarily) real footage. It is not made in a 3D program, despite how awkward things like shadows can look. The creator of this series is a professional photographer, and a majority of his work involves abandoned buildings at night with uncanny/eerie lighting.

I'm so glad I watched this video after having sat through the review for My Dad's Tapes. This is a much better series even before I reached the halfway mark of the video. One thing I didn't like is the footage Lawrence captures from inside the game. Not only does he have some oddly standoffish comments about the game (like "what did that do?" when he snatched the apples from the tree early on), but you can tell the footage is just a pre-rendered animation in itself. The movements and way the character turn are way too precise and stilted. It's something that a lot of media does when they're trying to portray footage of a video game, and it always hurts my suspension of disbelief. Obviously, it's much easier to create a 3D animation of someone walking around in a video game than it would be to code an actual video game, but for the discerning eye of someone who regularly plays video games, it just takes me out of it.

It's always a let down when I settle in for a Night Mind video only to find out that the series he's reviewing is terrible. Still watched through to the end, but I do wish My Dad's Tapes had been more than a hand full of good ideas spread across such a long and meandering path.

I really appreciate hearing someone else actually having a reasonable take on AI. It's wonderful when it's used as a tool, not a replacement, and trained on *legally acquired* content. And yeah, definitely just get a damn VA. Even a rookie VA will out perform any AI voice. Unless the point is the characters AI I guess? But even then, you're probably still better off with an actual person.

The clip of Tom at the front door gave me the impression that he’s being controlled by something else. It seemed like he was possessed by some being that has never had a human body Also the lynksers having savant abilities reminds me of the spike in autism diagnoses
