Okay, to start with, absolutely no knocks against the creator. I know why they wanted to do the Starlings video like they did. They REALLY wanted this plot to have more layers to it, a real "every answer leads to a new question" type of deal. And I get that impulse. It sounds real cool on paper to unravel this conspiracy all the way to surprise body horror, and do it in such a way that learning about it recontextualizes something that seems rather straightforward on its surface. And it's not like they failed in that respect either--clearly, the revelation explains several things that hadn't fit to that point--once it's grasped, it has implications. I thought the "three men one woman" bit was actually referring to the game studio, since three men one woman seems to pop up in several places in the narrative. But the delivery for this particular revelation was not very good. given it needed to be stitched together to be read, I assume it had to be worded in such a way no one video could actually give it away, which is why the writing seemed so weak. This is definitely something that needed a lot clearer build-up because taking this from realistic to bizarre is a shocking swerve. Well, "realistic". I grant that it's MORE realistic than a lot of ARG/unfiction horror, but it is still an "untouched" n64 game opening up youtube videos. And given I'm still criticizing faux retro games for having rendering features not present on the original hardware, I guess it only goes so far for me

i never really understood horror revenge stories like the second one. i mean ofc i felt bad for the witch at the start but then she just went and did something that's probably worse even if the guy had it coming i just leave the story thinking that everyone in it was just a terrible person justified or not. Just makes me feel nothing. I'm not saying it's bad just personal opinion. i still think the story's good reminds me a little of fan fiction but that's okay. i was just talking about revenge horror in general it doesn't seem to be my thing maybe I'm just a bad person lol.

Extremely late to the party but this creeps me the hell out, to know I could’ve been exposed to this shit at a young age. I was 5 (turning 6) at the time this particular video came out, so while it wasn’t exactly targeting kids my age at this time, considering it was just an arg, due to how this channel was marketing itself, it was kids my age that were stumbling across this stuff. This is why I’m super thankful that my parents didn’t allow me internet access till I was a bit older (at this point in time I was still watching Mickey Mouse club house, sesame street and real children’s shows like that) because if I’d been on the internet at this time, there’s a good chance I could’ve ended up seeing this stuff. Pretty scary to think about.

The starling thing bothers me as well, I honestly think it would have been better if a little bit of haunting was involved instead. Absolutely amazing game though, the whole thing is quite well-crafted.

Alright I need someone’s help with this. I remember an old Nightmind video I watched maybe a handful of years ago. It was his typical, longer content and ended on a scene of a girl (I think) in a hotel being approached by police and then attacking them. Or something like that. I remember Nightmind complained about how he didn’t like the way the ending was portrayed, because of its sudden reliance on one final jump scare. Something it hadn’t done to that point. Now I don’t remember if it was just the end of a part or the end of the entire series as a hole but it’s driving me nuts. I remember being really frightened watching his review and I want to go back and dive deeper into the content now that I’m older and a bit less squeamish. Does anyone know what I’m referring to? Also I do know it wasn’t his review of Anomolies, Paranormal Paranoids, Dad, Poppy, the Human Pet, Marble Hornets, Everyman Hybrid, etc. I cannot seem to narrow it down otherwise.

fun fact today, the creators of this game came to talk to us at the high school and the reason why they got to come to our school is because the colonel for the RTC is their dad and they said that they didn’t even make the game to be off hit they made it as a group project for fun in a competition and then they were a really small group. They barely got any recognition for any of their projects animation series or stories but since they made rabbit hair, they popped off and they are also trying to make other animations because they don’t want to be just known as the rabbit people, one of their name is I can’t remember the other one right now, but it was really cool😊

oh man... this is the first time ive seen anyone talk about this series. i loved chadam so so much back then. i was even planning on getting a chadam tattoo lol. the myspace blog was legitimately one of my favourite stories ive ever read. it was lovely. i wish i could find it again and reread. i had been so excited for the animated series... at the time i was fond of it, tho i thought the animation was a huge downgrade from alex's beautiful illustrations. but looking back it... yeah. it really did chadam a disservice. especially considering the themes present in chadam lives and the heart at the core of it. idk. it's very sad. also for years afterward there was whispers of a feature film that i had so much hope for but it just never materialised (for obvious reasons in retrospect) anyways thanks for making this chadam lives
