I used to work for Disney if I get a bad survey because they wanted to eat with Cinderella and there was no availability I would get a Zero and loose all my commissions!

With over 100 trips, I sit at a 7% no rating mark, and one 4* rating because she didn't like the airport parking sucking like it always does. I'll be curious to see how this affects things.

What to do about car insurance choices-get full coverage or liability only. My wife and I have insurance that is full coverage on 2 vehicle that are 2014’s (11 year old cars). Last year’s monthly premiums were $250/mo. Now that are asking nearly $400/mo! What?!😮 inflation what??

I can only speak for myself, 89% of my guests leave a review. My 5 star rating is 99.5% with only 1 4 star rating. My market is about 80-90% tourists and I rent newer cleaned well maintained vehicles.

I’m actually not pissed off about it. I agree with them that no review is typically a bad review just the guest, not wanting to leave it. I also like the maintenance part of it as well so hosts aren’t putting out these cars that are total POS.

Ah yes surprise surprise you made it clear you making more money with this changes proves you’re not making any money on your fleet and is a Turo Shill What you shouldn’t done is actually help the community and say 1) change all your cars to 1 month only trip duration because once it’s longer than that you’ll fall into the dynamic pricing trap of not being able to set your own discounts 2) dynamic pricing on discounts is bad for host large or small because it forces you to set a discount of minimum 55% which is madnesss, for example I got a 4 month rental recently in which they set a discount of 70%… yes 70% that you can’t even change cause turo is forcing you to set that discount. Hammering the point is key because a host CANNOT SET THEIR OWN RATES. 3) tell persons about mutual cancellations if they got a long booking so that you’re not penalized as a whole if they didn’t realize such to help hosts not again boast how you’re making more money because let’s be real… your fleet is cheap cash cars so you don’t care but it falls into the concern of critics saying that you don’t make money on your fleet. 4) Use your influence to make it clear that this is the worse thing turo can do for they’re already making it more difficult to hosts and show some financials behind why they need to speak to hosts more on how to provide a better service as a company which the customers would benefit from this I am one of those who’ve criticized you heavily in the past about you being anti host because of your model which to me is unprofitable but to each their own! But you cannot push your model to all hosts because what may benefit you is a crucifix to others. Yes I saw your pinned comment about it but it’s too late for if your first reaction is this video, if nobody pushed back on you wouldn’t have addressed it. Hosts/content creators like yourself is what turo depends on to keep shilling for them whilst they destroy and take advantage of hosts and turning it into the uber of car rentals.

Over the course of a decade, my working class wage has not increased, but for tens of cents on the dollar, while prices increase continue annually. With the onset of inflation, how are working class individuals able to purchase a vehicle unless they pool resources together or reedirect more of their income towards car purchases. Even when getting a second job, there are only so many hours per day a person can work and still optimally perform.

People want simple reliable trucks

To give a guest a lower rating because they gave you 4 stars instead of 5 is ridiculous. I understand you are in it this to make money but to hear a host is purposely rating me lower because I didn’t rate them like they wanted to is horrible customer service….and things like this is why you people don’t give out perfect ratings and luckily for the guest, there are plenty of Turo host to choose from.

Need some info on how to deal with free riders, in last two weeks already had 2 occurrences. 1. Guest booking car for one day and rides 200+ miles in less than a day 2. Calls turo to complain about car mechanical condition 3. Contacts host to inform about “problem” 4. Guest is nice promising 5 star for service and leaves 5. Call from turo for full refund and car delisting due to complaint

Anyone ever mention that your audio is "too good"? And no, that's not really a good thing. Its difficult to really describe, but it just has a very weird feeling listening. Nothing will give you an ROI like investing back in your own business. By that note, Roth IRA and any retirement accounts are a complete and utter waste of an "Entrepreneurs" time. Why? Because you get a 25 x ROI on hiring an employee. Now Compare that to a Roth IRA? 1/10th of 1x ROI. No, seriously. Read that again. Thats actually the truth. Run the numbers.

Are they gonna change the rules on who they allow to rent. They denied me and I have a perfect driving record, decent credit, over 50yrs old. Made a mistake of using two emails when signing up and now they won't allow me to use the service. Turo hosts are missing out on a would be excellent renter. Any info on this would be great.

At least you get to respond publicly to the review. Personally, I don’t like the 5-star requirement, a little old school and to earn 5 stars from me you have to be above expectations. I have no issue with a 4-star review and Turo shouldn’t either. Soliciting only 5 star reviews guilts people into giving a higher score than they feel people deserve to try to help them out or not penalize them. I hate it with restaurants, car dealers, etc.

110% agree with this. Having unrated trips count against you is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of. Hell, I’ll take an uber ride from the airport and immediately do something else and completely forget to leave my driver a review. That new requirement needs to be removed.

You have a massive following on your channel. The amount of education that you provide to its host is amazing. Did you ever consider crowdsourcing money and get funding to hire a legal firm to deal with Turo helping with host issues?

I had a Turo host bill me for cleaning and a smoking fee. I had to take them to court. I had video from the pickup that showed the condition of the exterior and interior of the vehicle, and video covering the same when I returned it. And I have a lung and heart condition so I literally can not smoke, I'm not even supposed to be around people smoking. Had to have my doctor give a medical note for court basically saying that if I was smoking I would have ended up in the hospital. I won and they had to pay all my lawyer fees and Turo banned them from their service.

Reviews are used as a weapon, they always have been used as a weapon. i had a gentlemen leave me a 1 star review stating his wife told him that he could of made that with some pvc... not even a review towards me or my product lol.

After 2 years of complete waste of time from Turo and their lack of response to a traffic incidents, I'm leaving Turo. The company only cares about their bottom line and nothing about you or your vehicle. I'm taking a loss and walking away from this company.

As a host with 12 cars and a power host for multiple years, turo's review policy is a horrible! Turo makes it difficult to run a business and get good reviews. Its almost guaranteed that if you charge a guest for gas or mileage you will get a negative review. I think one way to eliminate retaliatory reviews is to require the guest to leave a review/rating as a part of their checkout at the end of their trip. The trip is fresh in their head, and they can give an honest review of what they thought, whether good or bad. Not to rate later after they've been charged for gas, mileage or smoking. Thats not an accurate way to get an "honest" review.

I have an opportunity to buy a car cash due to an inheritance. I am 66, and want a reliable car to last me at least 15 years. My current car, a Hyundai Elantra, has lasted me over 12 years, with regular oil changes and basic services. I am considering a Mazda CX5, do you think that is a good choice?…I live in a snowy climate, and am willing to buy used, or new depending on the deal I can get. It will not be financed, so I want to negotiate the best price before I reveal I will be paying cash.

Sounds like Turo doesn't want to pay for the team that reviews these retaliatory requests, which doesn't affect *their* bottom line. Affects your bottom line? Cool. Affects their bottom line? Untenable. But they're not realizing if a bunch of hosts, decide it's not worth the hassle, guess what? *THAT AFFECTS THEIR BOTTOM LINE!*

At this point Turo should just adopt a rating system like Rotten Tomatoes. Was it good or bad? This 5 star rating system is pointless

Additionally, because many guests feel uncomfortable leaving a negative review when they have a bad experience, guests who don’t rate a trip tend to have had a negative experience. This is some biased non sense if I’ve ever seen any. I am not one to leave reviews whether the experience was good or bad. I’m sure I’m not the only one in this modern fast paced world that doesn’t stop to leave a review. It’s not that intimate for everyone and especially not to the low class renters we deal with. They barely want to respond to messages; what makes Turo think all of these people are not reviewing because they likely had a bad experience??! This is nuts!

Here's an idea. Be able to list a car and set a price.

Because they don't back up what they sell. Their customer service is BS. Once your buy the vehicle, they don't care about any issues you have. I will never buy a vehicle from them again!

I sold my fleet to Carmax, took a loss and moved on. The BS with Turo coupled with the BS with guests is not worth it. This large company is dictating how hosts do business and hosts just bend over backwards each time and take it. I’m not about that life. I’ll let other hosts take it up their chimney instead of me. God speed hosts.

As a POWER HOST with 41 vehicles, I have sold 13 of my vehicles and looking for alternative income. You’re paying in TURO playground so play by their rules or get out!

Guest left me a bad review because they wanted the vehicle at the airport when the pick up location was home they didn’t want to put airport location to avoid airport fees and I called Turo and they just left the review on there made no sense

I’m relatively new to Turo and I am relatively new to taking my car off the platform Dynamic pricing is what did it for me blocked out the next three months

With each of these changes, Turo is making it more difficult for hosts to profit. Thinking of dumping my 3 cars after this year. Dynamic pricing killed the high end 3 row suv in my market.

Couldn’t stay in, and one of the reasons was the powerhost changes. My vehicles were getting damaged so often and at times, Turo was low balling damage claims, and taking too long with the damage reviews, that I couldn’t keep my vehicles in service period enough to earn $36k/year on 3 vehicles any more. The changes with the instant booking also made it more difficult to be a part time host when I have an oncall rotation and needed to be able to turn down trips. Just wasn’t viable anymore. Too much work to stay at $40k+ as I was the first three years.

Will it kinda even out because we are all subject to the same bad review policies

Will you also consider giving three stars to a guest that repeatedly rents from you but does not rate you? No rating is just as bad as a bad rating, after all.
