Thanks, yes, it's one of those things that not everyone needs but is really cool to have and really looking forward to using it once we get out in the more remote forested areas. It's a little bit hard to try to find any wildlife here since there's thousands of other RVs and we're kind of parked in the midst of them, not on the edges where the coyotes and stuff would be- Kyle and Michelle

How has this been working?

Continues to work well, about 2 weeks ago though. My pepwave went out and I'm needing to replace the router. So currently I'm just running off of the factory router but had no issues with the 12-volt conversion. Looking forward to getting it reinstalled and up and running again to save the power during the winter especially

Good day!! Of course, I've watched this video but cannot admit to it so hubby and I will watch together later!! LOL I agree with Michelle, these look like a must have item as we too very much enjoy watching wildlife sneaking around at night! Now, couple things you mentioned that have concern for me for my future travels: I've never seen a scorpion or tarantula in person and will admit to having great fear of both! No lie! I have no desire to see one or be nearest to either. We also have two dogs so will need to educate myself on this! My husband says, "they will run the other way"...blah blah blah How do you keep them away from your camper or camp site?? I'm sure this sounds silly to you but definitely have a fear of spiders bigtime! Have a great rest of the week!!
@thewanderingshores9 күн бұрын
I know it won't make things easier but in the four years we have been here in the Yuma area, we have only seen 2 taratulas. I don't know there is really anything to you can do to keep them away from the camper, but I don't think they are not really interested in the rigs or anything in it. We have seen a few scorpions but typically they only come out at night and during the day they are hiding under rocks so you should be careful when you pick them up, or when you are leaving check the wheel chocks and any wood you have on the ground for the stabilizers.

Barrett, I know I watched your video on the novus as well as the RV lock for your review video. Have you tried the Onnais? We had to replace our number pad three times on our RV lock like you did with the sun beating down on it. When they finally gave us the silicone one it was better. But we still had issues with the door sticking on cold Days or when the sun was shining directly on it- Kyle

Good video Kyle. We have had eight Fifth Wheels over the years and the door latch is almost always an issue. Our door opened up on our Brinkley in downtown Anchorage last year and a motorist pulled next to us at a light and closed it and pulled up and told us. We are battling issues getting ready to head to AZ. This bitter cold (-2 this morning) is playing havoc with our truck (I still had summer blend diesel) and Lithium Bat in our trailer. Hope to head out Sunday! Burlington Bill busking on the road and here on You tube.

How scary to have the door open while driving, that happed to us and lucky what we do is fold the stair handle across the door so incase it happens it does not come completely open. I have a feeling with this lock though we are less likely to have an issue. Safe Travels and stay warm...

I upgraded my security system on my fifth wheel. I have Starlink permanently installed on it and I’ve added 6 Blink cameras. 4 of the Outdoor 4 cameras and 2 of the Mini 2 cameras. The Mini’s are on front and rear. The front I use to watch the pin box while hitching up and the rear is used to monitor the utility trailer for the quad while going down the highway. I have an outdoor one in the weather proof case that is looking right at the hitch ball. Two are mounted on each corner of the front slides looking back and one is inside facing the door. It’s not that I’m worried about people causing trouble, that’s what the 12 ga is for. 😁. But it’s so I can monitor stuff and I’ve been hoping to catch some wildlife on them.
@thewanderingshores12 күн бұрын
It sounds like you have a pretty awesome set up, I hope you catch some great wildlife with the cameras. We have three cameras on your rig as well and always enjoy checking them each morning to see if we caught any wildlife too. We will have an new video coming out (hopefully this week) on a new "toy" that will help us with that as well. More on that soon- kyle

Wow - you dodged a bullet there for sure. Easy to miss those fans on electrical equipment - they get clogged and the components can overheat - and once installed its 'out of site - out of mind' at least for me. I always fear something like that is going to happen to us when we are out in the middle of nowhere - like traveling through the yukon or such... Glad you had the resources to work around it - that would have made for an exceptionally bad holiday to have no power at all. We may try to drop in imperial dam on our way to quartzsite this year - not sure but we will keep you posted for sure. Happy holidays to you guys!
