why that adjuster was replaced? what was wrong with the factory one?

Hey man. The service Manuel says to put them in with the oil feed hole inboard on front and rear. Why do you do it different and then say you never had a problem with them? Maybe that's why they are making noise and needing to be replaced. Maybe not enough oil getting to the bearings to protect them?

Good on ya mate, the amount of effort you put into trying to film it so we can see the details of the job is well done. Really it's a bit of a pain in the ass job as it is without trying to video everything at the same time so, much respect. Subscribed over here in New Zealand. I'll be doing all 4 rubber mounts on my 2011 soon and your vids are awesome. Cheers

Rookie question. If the bike's ECU thinks there's a flap there does it alter fueling accordingly? What I mean is, if there's no flap but the bike thinks there is, does that lead to a fueling irregularity? Thanks.

To get the Pistons back into the boars squarely, just put the caliper half and the piston in a vise and slowly close up the jaws, forcing the piston into the bore squarely.

I checked he level today on my 2021 and it was low just at the level of the hose of the reservoir, I added about 4 oz but when I finally got that cap off and turn the fans on, no bubbles came out what so ever. did I fill it wrong...Oh I added about 4 more oz through the filler cap hose , checked, no bubbles...@uestion how do I know if my pump is actually working?

So is manual adjuster better than auto
@joshmartin8856
@joshmartin8856 3 ай бұрын
If you're running a stock 2012+ it's fine. When you start adding more HP the automatic one will tighten too much automatically. The down side is you need to take off your primary cover when you do your primary fluid change to adjust it properly, or every so often if it starts to get loud as it just gets looser with time instead of tighter.

The disassembly of clutch spring and removal of clutch disk wasn't necessary. Just the clutch adjustment plate c clip and pull the adjuster out without touching the adjustment lock nut. Then, remove the left handed shaft nut and pull out the entire clutch assembly. Assemble in reverse order, and you shouldn't need to adjust clutch if it was correct before disassembly. Lack of the use of a tourqe wrench is pushing your luck with that compensator and clutch nut. They are known to work loose even when tourqed to spec.

Why did you take off all the engine adjusters/ mounts off it looks like a difficult task getting the swing arm back on. I’m half way through mine just took it off for powder coating. I’ve a 93 flhs which has the old bushing kit I’m going to upgrade to a system like yours. I’ve left a the engine mounts in place I hope it goes back without having to much bother.

It was running fine when it was last driven, but what do you suggest I do Upon trying to start it up again other than changing the oil?

Good video. For information, it's now possible to buy only the sprag clutch as an aftermarket part, instead of the entire assembly, which makes the job a lot cheaper and obviates the need to grind away part of the casing. You take apart the assembly by removing the external circlip which holds the thing with holes in it against the toothed wheel and this will allow access to the sprag. I purchased my new sprag from a shop in Dylaki, Poland which sells on ebay and it works fine

You obviously didn't read your manual on how much fluid is required for the primary...
@pick6667
@pick6667 Жыл бұрын
Manual says 38oz - 1.12L - 1.1875 Quarts Wet, 45oz - 1.33L - 1.4 Quarts Dry, after doing all the jobs that i wanted to do i took the bike out for a run and then checked all the fluid levels (last video in this series of videos) I had top top up the primary and it worked out that I had put in 1.106 L, and as I said in this video how much was meant to be in the primary I obviously had read the manual on how much fluid is required for the primary.
@tomjones4093
@tomjones4093 Жыл бұрын
Well... there is no requirement to put "32 oz" in your primary, button it up, go for a ride, take the cover off and again just to add another "6 oz". That makes no sense when you are told to add 32 oz wet, 45 oz dry. I worked as mechanic for HD for period of time while I was in the military, never did we only add so much and then check it again later. That's why the manual tells you how much to add. So, you didn't read the manual, you just though "hey, I'll stick 6 oz less than required and then hope for the best... maybe add some more later".

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for this 3 part tutorial. I did a fuel sending unit repair myself, and didn't loctite the rear bolt, which caused it to vibrate loose and fall onto my drive belt. It fell right into the front drive pulley and wedged in there, behind the inner primary cover, causing the belt to get chewed up. Anyways, I'm really tight on cash right now, so I was forced to do the job myself. I wouldn't have been able to do this without your selfless tutorial. Thanks so much for the help brothaman. (2 fingers down) Best wishes to you and yours. **BTW - I ride a 2002 Wide Glide 3 CVO. The motor was very much like the one you worked on here.
