soooo glad to see someone else share my take on laser cyclone (especially with backup mags) as being one of the best abilities in the game. THE best imo, or at the very least it has the highest damage potential of any skill, so without a doubt the best damaging skill for long runs

@hasteow-hm3im bandit can be tricky in 1, but I think they're all good, RoR1 is also just a bit tricky to learn on its own especially if you're coming from a later game

@tischlp2235 risk of rain returns is a remaster of the original risk of rain, which was 2d instead of the 3d of the more popular second game, I also just happen to run with the game fairly zoomed out to get more information at once :)

@arlwiss5110 mathematically, yes! Atleast to my understanding, it is theoretically possible, but incredibly impractical and difficult to pull off. But I might give it a try cuz that sounds funny, and I'm nothing if not loyal to the bit

i find Localised Sun fascinating because it turns you into a puppet character, like Zato in GGST, and just like him, if you develop the skill of putting the enemy at the perfect spot between yourself and the sun, you can develop some insane dps in tandem with the chakrams and flamethrower. enemies moving is a problem, but you get around that by altering your speed - when you fire an ability, you're slowed and can use these different speeds to choose where exactly you want sun to meet up with you. tricky to do in the moment, but fun and useful

Not too long ago I did a run as Chef using cook and got to the final fight. I did know that you can also cook bosses and they would just turn into meat nuggets and go into the pot like all other enemies, and I was like....."Hmmm, I wonder if this works on Providence?" I tested the theory and landed the final blow on him via cook and.......to my horror and amusement, he actually did get cooked and turned into a food item. I just went "Oh my god.......I cooked god!" (Pun intended).

Drifter imo is probably the strongest character. With scrap cube and mouse aim enabled, if you hold your mouse at the center of the screen, sit on top of the cube and just hold primary, you will push it back and forth and just absolutely BLEND anything in there, while also being safe due to the elevation of standing on top of cube.

I hate the ads just as much as the next guy, but maybe this is a sign to go back to good ol fashion academia, a book. Recently ive started to find my mind circulating anti-tech philosophy. The more that time passes the more I begin to hate the smartphone and its covert introduction to another modern addiction. This unfiltered ecosystem of meaningless thought distraction has caused collective damage to human cognitive ability. Despite the access of free knowledge granted to us i believe the overstimulation our species is facing right now is not worth the tradeoff. In the event of trying to ween my addiction ive found that I actually like to go outside now.... And sometimes i go outside and read!!! Rejecting modernity has never meant so much to me rn. Our parents were right, it really is that damn phone.

@dunkawunka2278 as much as I partially agree, and I do think it's fantastic to step away more (hell yeah, genuinely good for you) I do think this may be a overcorrection. It's impossible to overstate the benefits of modern technology and communication, but corporations like KZbin have indeed used it to infiltrate every corner of our lives. Data stealing and addiction driving experiences run rampant and people NEED to be aware of this, but generally are not. TLDR it is always fantastic to step away and make sure to be present with your real world surroundings. Hell yeah. But it's sadly not as easy as blaming "Those damn phones", it's our corporations who are allowed to do what they please without repercussion that cause this.

I wish there was a much simpler foreseeable solution...

Rabid inane censorship, venerating scam artist criminals, allowing the infestation of zero-effort "AI" brain-rot slop content, and all of this while bending over backwards to force more and more unwanted advertising while constantly increasing their pricing for "premium" service while also having zero customer service and forcing their own TikTok knockoff.... the only reason I'm on here anymore is to help the ad-block developers in the arms-race.

I'm with the other commentors. Ads have gone past diminishing returns and are now actively turning people off of products. Whenever I see an ad it mounts a disliking for whatever product is being shown, near to no exceptions (I have a soft spot for the 'we turn everything into pillow' guy). Ads actively make me hate the product being shown.

I remember once YEARS ago I kept getting the exact. Same. Goshdarn Ricart ad on every single KZbin video I watched for about a month straight. I kept marking it as repetitive and it kept coming back no matter what. That, mixed with the fact that one of my music playlists had tracks so long that ads would play right in the middle of them (causing me to not touch that playlist for years) are what caused me to finally get an ad blocker. KZbin single handedly is the reason I got an ad blocker and I'm never going back.

I've reported them several times to no avail, because as far as KZbin is concerned they don't actually care about user experience until it starts costing them money (everyone ad blocking) and then the only thing they care about is fixing that (taking away ad block instead of fixing the fucking problem causing everyone to use it)

I genuinely believe ads don't work. Every platform is eating itself over trying to be profitable off ads that are worth pennies at best. This is why it's only platforms not meant to be profitable or that are able to get enough money directly from users work

While I waited for this to upload I got a suggestive scam ad LMAO Also another thought, how tf are creators being paid by pause ads? Ads are usually measured heavily by watch time, which is tracked by time elapsed on a video, but the video is paused? Like KZbin pays its creators so poorly they could just take all the money and nobody would really notice
