This is Canada's longest train and the second longest in the world! Step aboard as we show you what it's like to spend five days on Via Rails "The Canadian", which goes from Vancouver to Toronto!
Although it's tight, we brought our twin baby girls and our two mothers to enjoy the experience with us.
Is this a bucket list experience for you?

My hubby and I are scheduled on The Canadian in March. A true bucket list trip for us. I applaud you to travel with two infants. Your kids may be too young to appreciate it now, but you will have some great stories for the future.

Hi Matt, Karla, and young Ladies (Twins and Moms). Thankfully you went before the fires in Jasper National Park. The girls must have excited to be on the Train. Stay safe and thank you for bringing us along for this part of the Trip.

I love this video. I did my trip solo from Toronto to Vancouver in 2018. Travelling alone, I went with Economy. Got two whole seats to myself. There had been a 12 hour delay then, but enjoyable just the same. It looks like you were able see more of the Rocky Mountains. It was mostly in the dark for our train. This is the most civilized way to travel. After my trip, I did want to go through again just to see the Rockies.

yeah that's the challenge eh? What you pass at night vs the day. if it's raining, etc

@@MustDoCanada We started to pass at night. It was just dawn when I woke up to it. The staff said it makes its own weather. Could not tell if it was rain or snow.

@@MustDoCanada It was long time ago so can't expected too much. I took the train 7D6N no shower stop from Beijing to Moscow, quite a journey... Russia by that time was not quite open to tourists & was called USSR ! I remembered it took a whole day to pass the Lake Baikal, the largest fresh water lake in the world! It was early July in 1985 & my first time experience to midnight sun :)

I took the westbound (Canadian) from Toronto all the way to Vancouver on May 19th - 23rd, 2024 So pretty close to when you guys did the eastbound counterpart. The train ride was beautiful and the views were absolutely fantastic. I actually met somebody when I was traveling on the Canadian. I spent two weeks in Canada myself, I spent one week in Toronto and Montreal. Before my parents came in from the USA on the Amtrak to meet me. All three of us boarded together to cross Canada. During our time on the train, I met a beautiful woman who was also traveling in the world solo from Germany. My trip was Canada 🇨🇦 and Australia 🇦🇺. Then her trip was Canada 🇨🇦, New Zealand 🇳🇿, Singapore 🇸🇬, & Thailand 🇹🇭 We met on the train on the second day of the trip. We were in the Dome car and just started chatting and it didn’t stop for hours. We ended up chatting all the way to 1am that night When we arrived into Vancouver, that Thursday we all split ways and went our separate directions. The following day I had a flight with Air Canada from Vancouver 🇨🇦 to Brisbane 🇦🇺, they had an issue with my ticket, which brought me to the airport earlier than I expected. Which turned out to be a good thing because the woman I met on the train with also at the airport waiting for her car rental. We ended up chatting for several more hours, before I asked her if she would be OK with a hug before we went our separate ways. We have stayed in touch through WhatsApp. Since we were going to the same part of the world but different countries we got to learn about it through each other. We’ve really hit it off and become good friends. She even gave me the OK to book a flight to come and see her. So in April, I’m flying from the USA 🇺🇸 to go and visit her in Germany 🇩🇪 You never know when you’re gonna meet someone and your whole wide world comes undone. I’m super excited to go see her again, because this seems like fate and she might be my future wife. Great video

Very nice video, I rode from Vancouver to Toronto and back to Vancouver on the train last June in Sleeper Plus class and it was an amazing bucket list trip. The scenery is incredible, the food is awesome and the staff are just amazing, they really go out of their way to be helpful and courteous, they really make the trip a journey of a lifetime.

I'm booked for exactly a year from now! This is the first video to show the two bedrooms' partition folded to combine rooms. You must be a railfan to have the insider knowledge to book bedrooms E & F, as the latter is somewhat larger than the other bedrooms. The combination of the two is the largest possible accommodation on the train.... even larger than the prestige luxury suite!
