Here we go again... How many people actually watched the announcement video ??????!!!!!! YOU ARE NOT BEING FORCED TO BUY A SUBSCRIPTION! The perpetual license is there like before, and they made a special point of saying that it is NOT going away. I hate subscriptions too, and have always used perpetual license. To jump ship to another DAW is just silly. Just buy the perpetual license (That's what you would be doing with the other DAW). Cubase is great (so is Studio One), but the full version is $580 vs $199 for Studio One. Crossgrade is $360 vs $150 for a Studio One update. You do the math... Also, as I understand it, you can now update from any previous version for the same price. And you can even wait and update later when you feel it is worth it for the same price. To me, this seems VERY generous of them!!! Some people feel the update should be free. Why? Every other major update has been paid. I don't see how anyone feels cheated. Major updates on other DAWs, or just about any other paid software for that matter, aren't free either! This is not unfair, it is normal business. I also don't understand all of the $400 complaints. The video said the perpetual license for the Pro version (the ONLY version going forward) is $199. That's 1/2 price. The same people who knock Studio One's plugins throw back their heads and howl, because they only gave the new plugin to the subscribers. Most are probably using mainly 3rd party plugins anyhow, and probably have 10 other synth plugins that look different but do exactly the same thing as the one they missed out on. You could probably find 30 or 40 free ones that are comparable. This just isn't worth all of the drama. They also said that starting with version 7, software licenses would include ALL virtual instruments, and all extensions, now, and in the future. I thought almost everything in the announcement was a plus! I really don't understand all of the complaining...

Can anyone see this? (including my comment that I am replying to) For me, if I am not logged in to KZbin it doesn't show up.

If rather just buy what I want and need and not pay to play like it should be. I won't go for continuing to be robbed. I'll go back to my Roland vs- 2480 dvd if I have to.

In Studio One after using the bind midi feature when I try to bounce that midi to audio there’s no waveform or sound…. You do a great job teaching Scaler, I watched some other videos on it but it didn’t stick but now after seeing you explain it I understand it now, you have a gift to teach and easy to follow. Easy to the ears, likable guy. Thanks, Ivan.

Thank you so much, been needing to know how to assign the tracks to channels for years, now I can have more flexibility with impact xt, it was annoying having them all connected like that and when you move the volume slider they all moved because they were on the same channel. Thank you.

DMD is literally the main thing that keeps me on Logic. It’s a game changer. To add to your points… you can bring a drum loop to quick sampler, slice it up, THEN convert to DMD and have your slices chopped. THEN if you wanted to, take whatever track…let’s say the track with the hats, and convert the midi output to the step sequencer. So for making rolls or pitching, it’s easier. But anyways, great video. I just subscribed 💪🏾

For somebody who is getting back into recording and not returning to ProTools, I've been shopping around for good value DAWs. I think Studio One Hybrid is an absolute deal considering you're paying $180 for a $400 product. Most of us who aren't doing music production and mixing every day or as a side hustle probably just need a stable, usable, perpetual DAW, and so I think the Hybrid option makes a lot of sense, especially since it puts Presonus on the hook to keep you as a customer. Sure, a version 7 or 8 might come out, but how much better will it be than 6.6? Chances are, most of us can probably rock with 6.6 for years to come without having to resub. I think the next best deal on the market right now is honestly Acoustica's Mixcraft 10.5 Pro Studio. As I'm writing this comment, it is on sale for $99. This is an incredible deal. It's a fully featured, fully functional DAW (Melodyne Essentials included!) that has way more value than Studio One Artist.

Subscription models can be good when you use more than one DAW or when you don't need one. I can deactivate my S1 subscription when I want, and I went a whole three months without it once.

Thank you Ivan, your videos is a valuable help. A suggestion is to not fast forward some of the process, as it's important to get a sense for the overall process not to skip any part.

I'm so glad I saw this video, I was looking at a change from FL Studio and I was liking many of the features in Studio One that I saw in other people's videos, but now I can't run quickly enough back to FL, Studio. Presonus is a definite No from me 👎

Glad to see you've updated this as recently as this year Jan 2024 - that is awesome and excited to get started with this!!!!! The template is awesome - and your detailed videos on your site after purchasing make getting started really easy! Quick feedback - if a user has never used a template before (and I am on a MAC) then the template folder won't actually exist. I had to first create a "TestTemplate" and then the folder was automatically created. But in my case the folder didn't exist because I never created a template as I am new to S1. Once I created a quick test template - the folder was exactly where you described. Again really excited to get started with this and thanks again.

Good video, at least you get right into it rather than waffling for 10 mins! You can actually tune the sounds on the individual pads in Impact XT as well. You could put the same snare sound for example on three pads and tune them all differently. Then they will play their respective tunings when they are triggered.

I have to refer back to this video everytime I need to route maschine and S1. I'm not sure if this is happening to anyone else, but to record midi I have to now only record in monitor and record on the maschine track only. If I don't, I'll head the hit twice like a delay.

I started on Studio one, but this whole model sounds nasty, considering its perpetual license is only good for that current version, and FL studio is a perpetual license for all future versions as it stands now and for the foreseeable future

I use macro for layering...mostly orchestral instruments and synths...for example if a play one lead thn with macro m able to create two or more layers with different instruments with different octave...it really helps in layer in seconds....and even widening including the panning left and right.
