The subs in this video weren't that clear, here are the translation from DoolsetBangtan w0rdpr3ss: Yeah yeah, a gentle breeze One that brushes past One that soaks into my heart What kind of person am I Am I a good person? Or a bad person? The assessments are all different I’m just a person, too Everyone would live on Everyone would love Everyone would fade away and be forgotten People change - like I have Living a life in the world, there’s nothing that lasts forever Everything is just a happening that passes by Mm… why so serious? Why so serious? why so serious? I’m so serious? Mm… I’m so serious? I’m so serious? I’m so.. I’m so.. What about it If you brush past, what about it What about it If you get hurt, what about it Sometimes you might be in pain again Sometimes you might get upset and shed tears What about it If you live like that, what about it Flow along the way the water flows Maybe there’s something at the end A special life, an ordinary life, each of them on their own It’s all good It’s all good It doesn’t always go as planned Everyone puts up with the inconvenience The repetition of dramatic situations sometimes makes life tiring People are like that When it’s not there, you wish it is, when it’s there, you wish it’s not Who said that humans are the animals of wisdom To my eyes, it’s obvious that they are the animals of regret People change - like you have Living a life in the world, there’s nothing that lasts forever Everything is just a happening that passes by Your being ordinary is rather my being special Your being special is rather my being ordinary My being ordinary is rather your being special My being special is rather your being ordinary What about it If you brush past, what about it What about it If you get hurt, what about it Sometimes you might be in pain again Sometimes you might get upset and shed tears What about it If you live like that, what about it

I take this less about his legacy and more just human relationships, the hurt and disappointment we can feel in others, and the contradictions of life. I took it more of writing from the perspective of him as a person that was once again hurt by someone, but then looking at himself and recognizing that he will also be the person that disappoints another. How we can get so "serious" and caught up in our thinking and maybe even want to avoid situations we could get hurt in and instead accepting that that is a natural part of life, and 'what if I can let myself live like that' mindset instead of fighting the nature of living. Also, everyone has things in their life that they take for granted. For him it would be fame and celebrity, for us it would be the ordinary things like being able to go to the movies (he's said this in the docu-series Break the Silence), etc.

A better translation for the last part of the song would be... My special is your ordinary Your ordinary is my special. And your interpretation is right. He is referring to his life as a celeb. Things like going out having fun in public, doing to 9 to 5 job seems special to him cus he can't do it. That's his special. But for us, yoongi's life as a musician is extraordinary, while for him writing and performing music daily is normal. Its the perspective of life given by different sort of people. Another translation thing is, mwo eothe at the chorus... Instead of 'how about' It's better translated as 'So what if'

Thank you for this reaction!! I love all the songs from D-2 album! I just want to give a tip. If there is no official MV, then let's check channel "DIAL 6137". From a Korean's perspective, the lyric translations provided by that channel are the most accurate and have the fewest mistranslations : )

Hi guys! This is one of my favorite songs EVER. Suga has a way of laying out truths which may be hard to accept or reconcile, and in the end brings great comfort. And of course with the most incredible flow, musicality and beats. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! 💜💜💜💜 Glad you’re back from your hiatus, y’all are adorable. ☺️ I’ve mentioned to my bestie. You should check out the song ‘Dear my Friend’ as well. Borahae!

NF used actresses that looked alike to make them look like a family and everyone gets them mixed up 🤣 Rewatch it and think of the little girl and the lady walking towards the houses as the same person. You'll see the houses are different and notice when the girl walks in, the couch is to the right but when the lady walks in, the couch is straight out. It's a story of the little girl growing up with hardships and neglect and watches her mom go through struggles but not knowing why her mom does it. Pan to the older self and she's now doing the same things she watched her mom do. She's drinking and smoking and not making it to the bedroom before passing out and can't hold a relationship. The little girl notices all of this and ends up growing up to be the same way. The birthday scene still gets me thinking two different ways. One way is it's a flashback to a time her family should've been happy but they were broken and all she wanted was to wish her happiness into existence and watched it unfold after her blowing out the candles. The other way I see it is she's remembering her childhood as sad and traumatic but then gets to the party scene and remembers that maybe her childhood wasn't as horrible as she remembers it. Maybe it was better than she could remember because of all the other bad memories clouding her judgment. I have moments like this with my mom and childhood where I could pin point something she did that messed me up but then I remember moments before or after and everything was happy and joyous. So that scene still gets me thinking because on one hand, it's a "what could've been" moment but on the other hand it's a "maybe I focused on the harsh stuff and should've focused on the happy stuff". Still a great reaction and would love to hear how you guys interpret it the second go around knowing they're the same girl and the mom is a totally different actress 😂

This is worded so well! Just what I think about this video as well. Could be either of those scenarios at the birthday candle part. Maybe NF meant for both to coexist as possibilities?

The first scene, the young girl and the older woman that arrive home are the same person. It’s about generational trauma that the young girl learned early on in life caring for herself and watching her mom spin out of control, so she too spins out of control later in life. At the end, she decides to break the cycle, and forgives her mom, which is the first step to recovery.

The little girl and the young adult are the same person. The older women you see on the couch is the mom. During the video it shows the little girl doing the same thing as the mom, and at the end she has memories of the good and goes to rekindle (maybe a broken) relationship with her mom. At least that's what I think.

The way i took the video, the little girl and the young adult version are the same person. The video shows how the trauma she went through as a little girl affected her into adulthood. Her smiling at the birrhday party was the turning point when she realizes that not everything was bad growing up and hee mom was trying the best she could. The end is her going back to see her mom to start the healing process from the trauma they both went through. Love the reactions, keep it up!

Suga started just as a writer, then producer, then Psy lured him into a feature vocally, and then persuaded Suga to dance in the video. Watch the live performances-- they each showed up in the other's concerts.

The bond between BTS and army is truly the insane I'm sure that Jimin Planned this way before Army wrote the song you guys should check it out it could be seen as a match to this song it's called love letters by Army a song for BTS ! The guys are currently serving 2 years mandatory military service jimin and Jungkook applied to participate in the South Korean military buddy system which allows two friends or family members spend their entire military service together when the emotional/mental aspect of the military but that are so means that the two chosen soldiers are sent to one of the front lines posts so they will be back June 2025
