Gregor Townsend doesn’t get enough respect as a player. Some world class running lines.

Yes a great hero of the war but like another great hero Alan Turing, a tortured gay man who, unlike Turing who committed suicide, Paddy turned to alcoholism and self destructed. The journalist Mary Kenny documents how Paddy frequented gay bars in Dublin during the 50s.

In addition to for instance Gordon Brown & Mervyn Davies in ‘71 & Phil Bennett in ‘74 what about the likes of Teague & Dooley in ‘89 and Johnson in ‘93? Or did Rugby only start in 1995?
