I've said it before & I'll say it again... England have never had a world class scrum half since Matt Dawson was in his prime.

Care to elaborate…?

@@JuanPablo-en9jk The clip showed a bit of Matt Dawson magic, sadly missing. Is that what you mean by elaborate? Let me turn the question around. Who do you rate as being world class at scrum half for England since then? I can't think of anyone - plenty of world class players at other position but not scrum half.

@@tattyheid7279 I think both young and care were about on par in their prime. Given that we tend to remember the most recent performance stronger than we remember them in their prime, for the sake of this discussion both would have been better off retiring 5 years ago

@@JuanPablo-en9jk Agreed with the last statement although I wouldn't necessarily blame them - they don't pick the team. I still stand by my comment that neither were anywhere near world class. Ireland, Wales, France and Scotland from the northern hemisphere have had better scrum halves (!)

@@tattyheid7279 Andy gommersall steered us to a WC final beautifully I’d like to remind us all. May not be considered to be world class but he was world class for that tournament
