Over here in Southern California. Still a great video. Love the sound of the wing exhaust. I have a 2023 KTM 890, and due to your test, I will be purchasing The Wing exhaust.

Thank you. I know this is not scientific testing methodology.. but as far as i am concerned it proves the point. I am from Denmark and I ride the new Honda Dax ST 125. After break in period, oil change etc, i was looking for just a little more speed. It goes stock about 95 kph on a straight with no tailwind and no tucking down. But I would like to always be able to go above 100 kph so I will be able to keep up with traffic in strong headwind and uphill. I only use premium 100 octane E5 fuel, and also started using motorex fuel stabilizer for each refueling, and this helps with performance-not making it into a Firebird, but definitely gives it more power. I installed a small windscreen, which helps a bit also because wind is the main enemy for small HP bikes. Now I have just changed the intake to a DNA open air.. its expensive, but its supposed to last forever and gives much more air. If I use it without the cover on, I will make same noise as you did here, and I really prefer a quieter bike, so I just put a cover over the intake. Now the noise is not exceeding my comfort zone, but it sounds more deep, and actually gives it a bit more power in acceleration and maybe a bit in top speed too. Thank you my Honda mini bike brother!

Very informative review, thanks. Understanding the Wing exhaust gives less torque at low revs, means it's not for me.

Cant make up my mind what to buy but this one is on my list. Moving to Mexico this winter, a lot of trails around the area where I am going to live, but also a good bike to commute is what I need. This helped me in the KTM direction. Currently looking at this, the S-version, the 890s, and Triumph Tiger 1200/900 Rally Pros. Cheers from a Swede in North Carolina. Liked and subscribed.

Less back pressure typically means less low rpm torque and more high rpm power. I love BoosterPlug for solving fuelling issues in making it run 6% richer just when needed, increasing low rpm power and rideability (and more power). Pity that Euro 5 regulations prevent BoosterPlug to be fitted to 2021- bikes as the software recognises tampering and goes into limp mode.

Exactly what I want to do with my 690 enduro.....17" front just seems overly extreme and so limiting for dirt roads! A 19 front and 17 rear I feel will be ideal compromise still very supermotorish yet still competent on the fire roads! Another REAL benefit is the resulting LOWER seat height! Which I mean the 690 enduro is often too tall for me when the terrain gets really sketchy and I need my feet! Actually I might even lower the enduro also to make it a really sweet fireroading canyon carver! Trouble is finding the 19" front wheel! all everyone seems to sell are 17" ....I swear people have no imagintion they are just sheep wanting to do only what the crown does

Buen video.

What's the vibration like on motorways? Will it sit 80mph for an hour without numbing your fingers?

I've done 400 mile days on my 890. The seat is the worst thing. There is vibration over 4,000rpm it's very high frequency vibration but isn't really a big issue.

Ok, I have a question. You say you went down I tooth size on the front sprocket to increase max speed? I thought it was the other way around. The reason I ask is because I went up one tooth in the front and the top speed did not seem to change at all if not go down slightly. Any advice would be great... thanks

Good to see sharing experience. I like to say, that touring comfort depends not on seat softness, but on butt hardness. Did nynashamn-stavanger (1000km) in one day on crf250l,fully packed with tents, matresses and so on, so max speed similar to monkey (arround 90kmh). It was doable! Did 10 fuel fillups during that day. Also planning to to to Sweden-Norway on monkey125 (4000km in 7 days), will see how it goes :)

I did 258 miles yesterday and I didn't have any pain in the back or butt. I wear foam earplugs when I ride so I had no ringing ears even with yoshimura exhaust and K&N intake. I could keep on riding if I needed to. The only limitations were on the uphill sections of the highway with 55 mph speed limit. My Monkey could do only 54 mph and other cars were doing 60 mph. I may have to get a big bore kit.
