At the beginning of the song, it almost sounded like Nate was playing an electric guitar.

Do not like this. It’s a real stretch to call this Jerusalem Ridge. JR is a quintessential Bluegrass tune. When played properly it evokes the time, culture, and location from which it is rooted. This is not JR, this is a fiddler showing off. It may be technically impressive, but it does not capture the essence of the tune - the people and places behind it. Where have you gone Kenny Baker?

This is great. Back in the 80's I thought Hall and Oates was pure cheese whiz. I respected the songs but the pop arrangements were a turn off. This really shows how brilliant and talented Oates is. He never gets the respect deserved.

This was the first Dead South song I heard. My sons played it for me and I was hooked! I love their music and they're truly polished performers, as well!

Daryl certainly had that commercial tenor voice so prized by radio, but wow! John sounds amazing and his bluesy spin on his own songs is so refreshing for some oldies but goodies! Bravo!

Gonna have to say…I actually like this version way better than the original. The original is shallow and empty overproduced. I feel the hurt in this version deep down.

Wow John Oates in my hometown Memphis. In September 1972, I saw David Bowie and The Spiders From Mars in Memphis. The opening act was Whole Oats. John and Daryl were playing song from their upcoming release Abandoned Luncheonette, by then they were just Daryl Hall and John Oates.
