This whole "must be done in between these dates" for peaks to count as a winter high peak is nonsense. I've done the 46, never once registered the 'trail less' peaks with names, etc. no patch, no number, whatever. The formalities and the 'club' mentality in the ADK's has always been quite nauseating. Nice video tho

Started hiking this year after finishing school and did two high peaks. I’ve fallen in love with it and can’t wait to get more experience and eventually do a winter high peak! Your videos have been so helpful and motivating to watch!!

Thx for the video! The weather has turned winter like! We knew it wouldn’t last! Congrats on getting married! Good luck to both of you! A wedding on top of one of the high peaks?! You’ll need snow shoes by then! Enjoy and thx for the info!

Your cinematography is excellent, your music choice at around 3:25 was sublime, and your editing is phenomenal...but I gotta say, wearing shorts with all this flora was brave, and I was rather distracted by your big "walking stick." #JustSaying

How do you hike the same mountains over and over and over , the high peaks over and over! There is so much remote wilderness but you hike that same peaks over and over.
@JonathanZaharek18 күн бұрын
@@tdg223 Thank you for your comment. I understand how hiking the same peaks repeatedly might seem puzzling, but for me, it’s something profoundly different. I’ve developed a connection with each of these mountains that feels almost like a soulmate bond-they’re my brothers and sisters in a way, and I know them more intimately than 99.9% of people ever will. This connection is what keeps me coming back; it’s like food and water for my soul, fueling my passion. I’ve explored hundreds of miles around other parts of the Adirondacks, not just the High Peaks, and I have so much more to discover here. Living here is a choice, one that lets me dive deeper into this place I love. And over the years, I’ve come to respect every individual’s desire to recreate here in their own way, as long as they protect and honor these mountains and stand by their virtues. I plan to spend my life here, raising my family, and continuing to discover the incredible places this land holds.
