Emlid are great devices and affordable, however, we have recently found they are essentially disposable 😕 Emlid do not offer service or repair, so if it breaks, you need to buy a new one.

What can affect the accuracy of a drone's GPS? What errors can occur with a drone's GPS?
@joecerreta741119 сағат бұрын
This is a great video! How did you comply with 14 CFR 107.39, operations over people; 107.145 operations over moving vehicles; and 107.31, visual line of sight aircraft operation (especially when looking at the video camera and not the drone)? Personally, I think this video incriminates yourself and recommend you take it down. You do such great work (I especially like all the work you do with Emlid GNSS receivers), you don't need to deal with an FAA enforcement action or fine or anything that prevents you from continuing to make great videos!

Hi Rami, Thanks for covering this amazing survey event, BTW, I was listening to your story at the Survey School site, I was very impressed about your father's story, I moved to the US couple years ago from Iraq and I am a survey engineer I am living now in WA-state I am thinking now to start my own drone survey business here since I have a good experience in this field, And one more last thing since your name more as an Arabic name why don't you start some content to Arabic community I know many surveyors back in my home country know you and watching your videos but they mostly struggling with the language!, Finally I wish you all the best

The sphere tracking method was sick. Anyone discuss Gaussian Splatting for surveying at the event?
@RamiTamimi3 күн бұрын
I know right!! Such a cool concept, I can't wait to see the innovation with this. I did meet a company called Xgrids who use Gaussian Splatting with their hand held system. I didn't try the system, but you can watch the Day 1 video and see if anything they have is of interest.

How they guarantee that gnss sensor is solid and doesn't move in the rooftop with a flimsy bracket? it's not a survey grade CORS, it might be good only for agriculture jobs
@RamiTamimi3 күн бұрын
The quality of the base is very critical. If the base is moving and the corrections aren't survey grade, it is rejected and not used on the correction network.

That leica only has a 50m range doesn't it?

Correct, this concept is brilliant, but only for short-range since you need the camera to see your pole.

Question, boss: Could you make a video about comparing different iPhone LIDAR scanner apps? Don't have to make it 100 hour long, just what you recommend, WHAT WORKS AT ALL. Because I bought a few and they are SUCH GARBAGE. I spend hours scanning and they can't even process the finished scan, they just crash. Like I can't even recall one app that worked flawless. (I didn't try the one in this video but now I sure will.) And as always, great videos, great content. Love the channel!

Rami, could this method benefit by using the base on a known point (benchmark) and receive corrections from a cors network? Or would PPK make more sense?

Hi Rami, I am considering an Emlid RS3 & Emlid Flow for feature & level surveys. I use Total Station to collect urban cadastral data & points where heights are important. I use a Leica TS16 with Captivate for collecting most data. Would it be easy to merge Captivate & Emlid data sets? One of my concerns is codes. Is Emlid Flow code library customizable? Thanks.

This bs from Leica is why Trimble is slapping them like an abusive stepdad. They need a new controller and cut out all the tablet nonsense. Technology is 10 years behind at least

Nice! When mapping a mountain terrain , and have 200M difference in Height? Should the Drone be a fixed height above the highest point and stay at that height for the entire flight, or follow the terrain at eg 30m?
@surveyin9 күн бұрын
WE watch you often and thank you for your work. How about flying to Texas or California and UNBOXING a Rover/Data Collector sent from say...China, and then using a Trimble/Leica/Topcon or similar PAID NTRIP NETWORK SUBSCRIPTION that includes a SIM card that gets inserted into the Data Collector (The data collector that came out of the box) and then GOING THROUGH the steps to obtain FIXED RTK via just the new GNSS Receiver/Data Collector/Sim card and the Subscription based NTRIP. You wouldn't NECESSARILY need to do that from Texas or California OTHER than to PROVE and SHOW how IT CAN BE DONE and then ALSO go to the CALIFORNIA-TRANS Agency and get their FREE service and CHANGE to that FREE service in the SAME VIDEO.

@volantdrone5 күн бұрын
@@jerseyshoredroneservices225Absolutely but certainly not safely covering a large part of a populated area. We have used an older model for some long transmission lines and could see much further than a quad but there were no people under the operation. VTOLs definitely have a place but for the most part we are using quads or manned aircraft
@jerseyshoredroneservices2255 күн бұрын
@@volantdrone Fixed wing is definitely not for every job but when the circumstances are right it can be a great solution. In some situations the remote pilot might even be able to chase the drone in a vehicle. That might be a great way to do miles of shoreline from a boat.
