This helped with my social anxiety and fear. I feel more calm. The only side effect I get is a little dizziness 2 or 3 hrs after taking it but I rather have dizziness than the anxiety and high BP.

this did not work very well for me. it may have lowered the obvious physical symptoms, but doesn’t address the cognitive and emotional aspects of generalized and social anxiety disorder. i feel like this is for people who don't have a chronic anxiety disorder, but more for people who seldomly get put into normal anxiety inducing situations like stage fright.

I don't agree with all of this. I find it really does ease anxiety. I havent had any side effects either, I guess it works differently on different people. Less intrusive thinking, less edginess, just calmer and feeling more positive.

I take Escitalopram again, 5 mg, it feels like I am less nervouse but my thoughts that people are against me are still there. I hope I can train myself to correct my thoughts or try to have control on my thoughts and be more assertive. Like, Here I am, I don't care what other people think I make my own decitions. And try to get out of my social isolation and talk more

I'm happy you made this, and I'm happy I found it. I am in the military (US), and was recently diagnosed with moderate to severe ADHD. Before my diagnosis, I felt awful. I can't remember all this information that's thrown at me, when others can. I can't organize or manage time, when others can. After my diagnosis, I didn't feel better. So many people say "the military is great for ADHD." But not me. So I felt like a double failure. I'm more than halfway there, but the time up to this point has been rough. And I know the time after is going to hurt even more, because I'm supposed to be the person who knows, and I just, don't. In a way, though, I feel better knowing other people are or have been in this exact situation. I'm not actually a miserable failure, I just had the deck stacked against me, and people just don't understand what they don't, like anywhere else. In a way, being in this pit does give me a new beacon and direction, away from this and on what I understand is a better course for myself.

I have 1 cup of strong Vietnamese iced coffee and 1 x 18mg Concerta at 6am and I'm golden. By lunchtime I'm a bit of a chatterbox though, and the jitters usually only last about an hour, and because I know they'll go away it doesn't bother me.

Didn't work for me ..Major Depression Disorder...started at a half dose 2.5mg which maybe helped a little with anx but not depression increased in stages to ' the ' 10mg theraputic dose at which point the drug had put me into a sucidal tape loop only one other drug had this effect on me and that was mertazapine which is also an atypical SSRI. Guess it must work for some people.

I suffered depression and anxiety when I lost my father at 16…it was a pretty traumatic experience, and I suppose it was all from grief and depression…it (the depression) lasted 2 years and finally that cloud lifted, but I was left with some PTSD. I have managed well…I mask well anyway….I have found the keto diet has helped immensely. I never turned to drugs or alcohol, but I often have wondered how I made it through that time…I sure don’t know…I guess it’s like the saying…”what doesn’t kill you, makes you strong”. I have made it through somehow. Thanks for sharing your story. ☺️

I just got diagnosed 2 weeks ago at 47 years old. My work life has generally been absolute hell because I would forget everything and I would always end up in conflict with people getting frustrated with me. 2015 I moved to Vietnam to teach English. Having creative freedom and having the space to be able to mess up once in a while was brilliant. However, after unintentionally moving up the ladder, I found myself in a manager position. It's been a real struggle, so many careless mistakes, forgetting stuff, but thankfully my boss is very supportive. After researching ways to improve my productivity and make my life more bearable it became clear that I had ADHD. I was not especially hyperactive as a kid so never thought I had it. I went to the Doctor, and he confirmed I have mild/moderate ADHD and prescribed me Concerta. I only took it on my days off because I did not want to have a panic attack at work. However, the last 4 days I've taken it at work and this video pretty much describes how my week has gone. I'm getting so much more done, calmly working through tasks in a logical order. One little thing that blew my mind was that my locker was so messy, full of random forms and bits of paper. I tidied it, but did not even think about tidying it; I just did it, no big deal like a normal person. I'm also much better at listening and having a conversation with my colleagues. I feel very hopeful, let me know if you have any questions, I would love to help people who have suffered with ADHD, because we're so misunderstood.

Propranolol is helpful panic attack. Won't treat the panic, but it makes your body a lot more calm and adrenaline is dampened to a calmer level. For panic attacks, exposure therapy is king.

SSRI actually block/inhibit re-uptake. The body breaks down & reuses the chemicals (known as re-uptake). By inhibiting this process the levels increase. The theory is that higher levels will help

I think it’s a good medication. However, now they’re saying that it can cause dementia problems, and also involuntary muscle jolting. So I don’t think it’s a good medicine for long-term.

Timing is everything! I’m now on 54mg and have never slept better. I set my alarm for 6am, reach over to my night table and take it. If I need to get up, I get up. If I can sleep, I fall back asleep. I started to question my doctor if it’s adhd because after taking 36mg for a few months, I was still chaotic. When I say chaotic I just mean those days you don’t actually finish a single thing but spend the day bouncing from idea or task to another and completing nothing. I just got out on 54mg two days ago and I have been in bed by 10:30 and passed out by 11. This is the first time I’ve had two nights in a row waking up feeling rested. It’s crazy to me! I’m scared to tell my doctor I still take it and can go back to sleep because I know there’s only limited increments of dosage and I am 100% not trying a different medication that I could get addicted to or anything like adderol because I have overcame an eating disorder(sorta?), alcohol and coke abuse. He completely understands, respects and is inline with that choice. Knowing I have an eating disorder and the effects of adhd meds, he also told me if I lost weight he would immediately stop my prescription. I gained lol since gaining weight, I’m not losing crazy amounts of hair everyday like I have for a few years, I sleep better and the man who has my heart still showers me with compliments and is turned on whenever we connect. At 34 years old I feel like my life is finally starting to iron out a tad and it’s genuinely the best feeling ever. Also, I’m not a rager when I get angry or sad, all of my internal externally presents as a cry baby. Whatever, I’d rather be a cry baby than rage.

@@dynastykingthereal It was for me is all I was saying. BUT it most likely wasnt. I just handled it wrong. Keep reading... SOmething I do that has helped me not destroy my sleep anymore is keep the bottle of meds in my bedside drawer, set an alarm for 6am, reach over and take it. I've learned that if i plan to get up then or soon after, to drink more water when i take it than I do if I want to fall right back asleep. If I want to go back to sleep, I take the smallest sip to get it down the hatch. Thats what ive noticed and it makes sense given how conc3rta works

I take only 10 - 20mg at a time, depending on the day, how I'm feeling and what I'm doing. I can hardly imagine being on higher doses - on 20mg the dry mouth and constant thirst is starting to get annoying. But it's also not my main line of treatment - I take atomoxetine (non-stimulant, probably most common brand name would be Strattera), in combination with a stimulant when extra focus and motivation is needed (so mostly during the work week with breaks on most weekends) and it works quite well for me. My stimulant is also the quick release version (I have tried the extended one and I noticed I don't like it - I was getting jittery in the afternoons/evenings, like the stimulation was a bit too much), so it works for approximately 4h.
@EwaKamczyc
@EwaKamczyc 3 ай бұрын
Since I take the stimulant mostly as an assistance with my work (or sometimes chores, but work/learning is the biggest one), I notice I don't always need a second dose during the day. Sometimes I manage to get hyperfocused enough in what I'm doing during the first 4 hours that I just go with the flow

It works for me. I use less Xanax now. I use 4 drops. 5 drops is to high. Because of my autism im sensitive for medication. It helps to be a bit more flexible. I can handle a bit more changes and noises. I use drops instead of pills because I could start really low. ( started with 2 drops) when I took 5 drops I couldn’t cry, I was very dizzy, hartbeat was below 48. Felt depressed and my legs were tired, had a headache.

I never comment, but this is the first time I've see someone else say they did their entire enlistment without medication. I remember seeing my rack mate in boot camp getting kicked out and my Senior Drill Instructor telling us that my rack mate mentioning why boot camp was so hard for him was because he had ADHD, of which my Senior said he's being prosecuted for fraudulent enlistment. I did 5 years in the Marine Corps, too afraid to reach out for professional help because I could not afford to be kicked out of the military. It was Hell for me and everyone around me could physically see it was Hell for me, but no one helped me at all.
