What's the running costs when you tested it please??
@leecalladineКүн бұрын
@@richieremo1 this video is 5 years old. The model proved unreliable. All pond heaters can be expensive to run. Insulation and sensible temperature settings are the only way to minimise costs.
@richieremo1Күн бұрын
My findings are running costs about 5 quid a day roughly...videos like this are very misleading lee as you make it sound brilliant? And good value for money.glad I watched another guy giving a detailed opinion and meter reading of running costs before I dived in with my cash.😊
@leecalladineКүн бұрын
@richieremo1 Never ment to mislead anyone. However the cost of running a heater can be extremely expensive and I have made other videos since this that have made this more clear. There are more efficient heaters available such as heat pumps however they cost a lot up front and may never return the savings to cover the purchase price. This is of course depending on usage. The inline heaters such as the one in this video are only suitable for occasional use and should be considered effective only to stabilise the temperature and prevent the pond becoming dangerously cold. During a mild UK winter the heater may only be required for use Dec to Feb and with sufficient installation and a sensible temperature settings this can be achieved without massive costs. Anyone wishing to significantly raise and maintain a temperature well into double figures C should certainly be looking for a more efficient option. Thanks for the comment.

Great info, but have you thought about a drum filter? It provides top-notch filtration by automatically removing debris and dirt, so you don’t have to. It’s incredibly low maintenance and costs just around half a dollar per month in electricity. If you want clear water and less time spent cleaning, this filter could be a game-changer

Bad vid. Really, waiting towards the end to explain the title of thread. And not in depth at all. Those plastic balls are a gimmick and you know it. They are full of heterotrophic bacteria that are almost useless in removing ammonia. 1 real nitrifying bacteria are equal to about 1 million bacteria in those bioballs. There are only a couple of companies that sell true nitrifying bacteria. Not to mention there is not one research paper that shows this product works
