Using the words British and Economy in the same sentence is an oxymoron. The British have a moronic history of voting for the politicians that has given them what they have now.

The UK is a backward country and has been for decades. Everything about it seems archaic and outdated, including the mentality of it's people, who largely live in the past, insisting they are a powerful, important country, as if it is still 1920. Poland' economy has grown massively since it joined the EU. Britain is the only country ever to leave the EU.

Over 1 million Poles still live here in Britain. The UK economy would be in a worse state still but for that. Every empire falls in time and even Germany's economy is failing due to its rigid thought processes and failure to innovate. Poland won't become a great state again as in the 16th century but it might earn its way out of taking EU subsidies and assert more influence in the EU. You still need Britain to help defend your borders as Germany and other EU members won't rush. The calculus of self interest is stronger on the continent of Europe hence the randomly closed borders and ability to do universal good without asking what the payback is.Trump is at one with this view so better beware.

tl;dr : India got its independence, the industrial revolution started 200 years after colonization, 100 years after sugar plantations where slaves were worked to death created fabulous wealth, 50 years after the direct rule of India started ... it wasn't liberal capitalism that made Britain rich it was aggression, looting and plunder and all that ended a while ago, you got lucky with the North Sea oil and the globalization boom of the 90's and early 00's time to face reality. Note: this is the third time I write such a comment on a video talking about the decline of Britain without mentioning that the wealth of the land was stolen and looted from all over the world, the British self-delusion is very strong.

Nonsense, new goverment is an economic catastrophy after just one year... KAS (Polish tax administration) reported that only this year, thanks to the return of old methods under "new" administration Poland lost 30-50 billion złoty thanks to return to mass tax evasion. The same happend with most state-owned companies, that were staffed with new party brownnoses, reports show historical, never seen in history of this country downfall in half of them, best example is Orlen that was made central-eastern european champion under PIS, that was making 29 billion yearly, in one year lost the income by 94% and made only 2.3 billion thanks to astronomic incompetence. We are currently having mass bankruptcy of companies and nationwide epidemic of layoffs, combined with growth of extreme poverty thanks to rising costs, all promisses that were suposed to battle this and be done in 100 days after they take power failed to materialise, and aren't even worked on. Large future projects are either scaled to pathetic levels, dragged in time or stright out cancelled, while we have biggest in history debt rise and constant budget updates for 2025, looks like they can't even count properly. All in all KO coalition after one year looks like a brunch of retarded 5yo children that should be keept under supervision to not harm themselves and others, rather than run a country.

GDP per capita gives the illusion of a high standard of living, and it's a statistic that makes governments feel good about themselves. What it doesn't take into account is the backsliding of wage gains in the private sector from inflation, and the gig economy. Then there's the ever greater disparity between the wealthy and the poor. I wish GDP per capita told the whole story.

Between now and 2100 Poland is expected to lose 67% of it's population in probably the worse demographic catastrophic of any developed nation. I live 9 months in the Uk and 3 months in Poland .Poland is still behind the UK especially mentally but you see constant growth,In the UK I see store closure ,in Poland they open new stores, galleries . For me it is still better here but I think in 10 yrs the situation will change .I have my own flat but leashold is for me a scam ,6000£ for cutting 1 acre of grass for a year .I'm on the street when I lose job however in Poland you could live months /years before you sell it and you lost health .I prefer this than receiving benefits ,you have plenty of time to adjust the new reality .You are not paying like service charge you pay for council to cut your grass and keep basic repairs .I understand now British mentality .Polish person is trying to have his own flat at any cost in Britain I was bemused when guys bought houses in Spain and rent in the UK .Now I understand them .There is also historic legacy in communism it was forbidden to have private land ,but in the UK landowners have the best situation in Europe .The UK hasn't have proper revolution like French revolution ..

Man, I was watching this video about Argentina with a heartache. So much potential and it was flushed down the toilet. It makes me angry and disappointed, especially because of a similar situation in my country - Ukraine: 45+ million mostly educated people, good geography, you can grow everything there, resources worth more than few trillion dollars (Uranium, Titanium, Lithium, etc.), some decent places to develop tourism (both summer and winter) and much more. That's only economic part, but it would be enough to be a superpower but guess what? Extreme corruption. Everyone starting from a simple police officer to ministers is a former criminal (or just actual in disguise). They destroyed everything to make themselves billionaires. I am wishing all the best to Argentina, make your dreams come true. Hope Milei will also help you become great.

@Explained with Dom Thumbs down. Too much background noise… I write this to raise awareness. Too many people have disabilities, ADHD, PTSD, AUTISM, ASPERGERS. There’s ESL English as a Second Language and varying levels of intelligence that may need to focus more. Senior citizens aquire difficulties focusing (Captain Ice Cream is the best example) Every hearing aid commercial states that they have problems separating voices from background sounds. If your goal is to attract as many viewers as possible, you are defeating that purpose and limiting your audience. I have given up trying to watch such channels because it is just too torturous. I have already clicked on the right hand column “Don’t recommend channel “ Hollywood worked this out ages ago. Does your television news have background music? What about television financial shows? What about serious talk shows with leaders of industry and heads of state? They only use background music to move the plot forward in dramatic movies and films, never over extended narrative either. I only saw this horrible fad start when people started producing their own documentaries and videos, that is when amateur video editors got involved. They forget that I am here to hear the word information, not music, nor gizmos and gimmicks. If I want music, I’ll go play music that I want to hear. Anyone reading this comment, please spread this message to content creators you know or that do this. Thank you for your attention to this important issue. Blessings

A controlled safe environment? Count me as a skeptic. How much control do these projects have? Let's face it, people who are addicted to drugs aren't safe. They cause problems for those around them and for themselves. That's why I ask about the level of control. We have controlled environments in the US and they're primarily prisons. I've never been in one, but I wouldn't call them safe. It's a thought provoking experiment, but some experiments don't scale. This one sounds incredibly expensive. The slant this video has is that it works, but I think that's a big overstatement. Look into the cost closer and I think you'll see the net benefits are outweighed by the costs. Look at their immigration policies and it's considered restrictive. A country the size of Minnesota, and a population of 5.58 million compared to MN at 5.738 million, they don't face the challenges of most states in the US address every day. To say they have a solution is wishful thinking at best and deliberately misleading, even pernicious at worst. Hey we're giving away homes to those who can't afford them and won't take care of them. Ya know what that would look like in the USA? It's the financial crisis in 2009. I never want to see that again.

I feel the US's urban planning had making people money in mind, whereas a small island nation like Japan couldn't do such a thing. There's not enough land to go around so land and property in Japan isn't treated like an investment. I don't dare do anything about treating property like an investment in the US, instead I just wish to move to Japan or other small island nations where such practices aren't a norm.

Brazil has been governed by communist bandits for more than two decades, so the country's rapid growth between 2000 and 2011 was manipulated through terrible public spending accounted for in the GDP, constant internal and international debts, and shady agreements that only enriched friendly politicians and businessmen. Today, more than ever, Brazil lives under a largely dictatorial government that arrests protesters and only increases bureaucracy and taxes. But make no mistake, it is not the people's fault; traditional culture has been completely subverted. Countries on both political sides have long manipulated elections and politicians, thus destroying the market and growth in Brazil to make the Brazilian population dependent on their products and services. The Ford Foundation and other international foundations and organizations are, among other things, acting from within Brazilian universities and filling the heads of future professionals with disastrous ideologies for decades.
@shiroblack5420Күн бұрын
Local and international elites create several traps that in practice prohibit the Brazilian population from getting rich. They take everything for themselves while implementing a culture of dependence, consumerism and degeneration as a way to maintain themselves by stealing and expanding their power. The population cannot overcome this, as they are constantly trying to maintain what they have and survive.
