It's funny how this plays out anywhere where taxes are lowered to lure in the big fish. It's all done under the banner of 'creating new jobs,' but what it does is import workers from abroad, increase the strain on infrastructure (roads, transit, housing) while adding little to offset it, and causes an increase in the cost of housing (rental and ownership) that the locals are unable to afford.

I just realized this. When you hear of big cities like New York, Los Angeles, London, etc. you always hear negative things about them like Housing crisis and crime. But i dont remember last time hearing anything bad about Tokyo except natural disasters which dont count. Tokyo being twice as big and having 5 times the population of New York still surprisingly is one of the best designed cities. I would even say Tokyo is the best designed city. Sure every city has problems. But the whole world needs to start looking at Japanese urban design in general.

Canada is being run by spoiled rich kids who have never experienced hardship of any kind yet this is who Canadians vote for so it seems it is all dependent upon their poor choices, folks get what they ask for and then when their choices turn out badly blame others..

Very cool video. I've always wanted to gold plate a model airplane. It would look cool in the display at the Las Vegas airport Check-in lobby. They have another one between concourses in the hallway.

The government is a joke so they are any other country and they would all be up in court over it. Ireland is slowly turning into a political dictatorship where all the truth about taxes and housing shortages are kept out of the media and if you disagree your right wing or racist

I moved back to Ireland in 1995 and the country had 2 big issues..Housing and HSE that was 30 years ago and it's hasn't changed...there were 2 political parties with shared power on and off in those years and now they share power as a coalition...it's time for change.

I used to visit Dublin often, hotels were affordable, if you looked around. In the past 5 years, prices have increased beyond my means, despite me earning a lot more. I can get a 10 day holiday abroad including flights and food for about £600. That would be the cost of about 3-4 days in parts of Ireland.

Japan is not as centralized as S. Korea with its major cities being Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and a few more. Tokyo still dominates. So the government is paying people to move out of Tokyo to go into the country side. If you start a business there then they’ll pay you more. It has had a bit of success so maybe this can be an added incentive to leave Seoul. Also, give an incentive for companies and schools to at least create branches in the new capital.

The great wealth is the target. The method is to take it is to drive out middle class, rational voters. There is no accident or errors, here. The PLAN is drive to middle class voters. The elite, then,.will always be elected buy pandering to the ignorant. programmed, and drugged. The "losers" or America move there as well as low caste interlopers via Mexico. Don't think the elite will be embarrassed. The love ruling in hell rather than serving in heaven, as Milton wrote. See LA, SF, Chicago, Detroit, and now NYC. All "Democratic" environs. The schools produce stupid people who think in terms of being victims of class control. This narrative of NIMBIES is a fancy. Gibberish.

The country has declined unbelievably since the Liberal Government has taken over in 2015. The problem now is that the country is so far in the gutter, if a new party was to take over in the next election, it will be nearly impossible to resurrect the country to what it was pre 2015.

So why did the decade long absence of the conglomerates/oligarchs, not give way to small independent start-ups? What are the hikikomori (memento mori?) doing while un-employed all that time? If 1.5 million people live off the support provided by their parents, you'd think economy is not half bad then? Also, with so many elderly people, who apparently have that much to spend, this should balance out in industries catering to their needs? I see opportunities and business models.

Yeah, yeah, yeah heard this all before - usually from people who've done nothing in the service of their country, and whose self-serving whinges are premised on a 'what-have-you-done-for-me-lately?' attitude towards our so-called participatory democratic system. Having lived and travelled in other countries in the world, I'd say the whole premise of this insipid clickbait (how else to describe something leading with "Why No One Wants to Live in Canada Anymore"?) is based on a myopic, victim-based adolescent mind set - ie. the world owes me a living.
