hey! Would you recommend using front/back hand for the first attempts? or just whatever hand feels more natural>? I prefer jumping right and also prefer right hand grabs and one-footers... going to try that for board off tomorrow here in ilha do guajiru!

Thanks for the video. At one of the launch sites the wind is very weak at the bottom and very strong at the top. So during launching the kite starts naturally drift downwind and then hot launches. Any recommendations?
@TheRiderExperience6 ай бұрын
Once you're in your standard launching position you could take a few more steps upwind pushing the kite deeper into the wind window to get you a more positive launch. This is also useful in lighter winds. I hope that might help :)
@vlaaady6 ай бұрын
@@TheRiderExperience Yeah, I feel like this is better than throwing the kite upwind that may have an opposite effect and eventually increase the kite drift downwind.

hei mate, great video. It appears that there wasn't many other kiters in the water, which is great. Is there usually like that? I am heading that way in June staying from 1st to 6th June. Is there a website that you know that I can use to keep on check the forecast for the region? Also is that worth to rent a car in Trujillo? I am planning to fly from Lima to Trujillo and thought to rent a car, but I am not sure if it's worth, how much cost and all that. Any coments or sugestions? Also how is the internet in that region? I am asking because I will be travelling and will be booking hotels for continuation of my trip and will need internet. Anyway, any coments? Cheers

Mosto of the times I self launch rotating on the sand, the bridle line get stuck on the tip when the rotation is starting an the kite is starting to inflate. Then, with the bridle line stuck on the tip, the kite goes into a fast loop into the power zone until it hits the ground. What am I doing wrong? 😢

This was filmed at the Panama Kite House in Punta Chame: www.panamakitehouse.com The season is December until April if you want to join us for some awesome kiting :)

One thing I've never understood is why, when you get to the bar and start wrapping up the one line, do all the guides show wrapping it around the bar in a way that just uses up a few inches per wrap, rather than end-to-end on the bar like we would normally do. Wrapping around the bar the shorter way seems unnecessarily tedious. Every self-rescue guide does this, but I've never seen an explanation for why.

Thanks for the video. Just to mention a variation that I could call the "French Method" to launch: when walking upwind you connect the safety leash, but not the chicken loop that you simply hold by hand, and do not even touch the bar. Once there is tension in the lines, one can feel it in the hand, and if all is good in the lines then the bar will set itself automatically fine with no tension in it. In case the lines are messed up or any emergency, the only thing to do is to drop the chicken loop by opening the hand and the safety line will hold the kite. If all good then one hooks, take the bar, and launch. Since I've tried this method, launching the kite perfectly is super simple.
@TheRiderExperience Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. This is definitely also a nice way to do it. We so often see people holding onto their bar and trying to untangle/spin the bar when all they need to do is let go and it will set itself up, this is a nice way to make sure that happens.
@__-1234 Жыл бұрын
@@TheRiderExperience Exactly... there is absolutely no need to hold the bar before launching.

I manage the situation but i did it at purpose so i recommend to everyone to try it once to feel the situation and be able to really handle it if needed. All the best!
