This is the best self rescue video I have seen on KZbin. Actually showing an example in deep water and keeping a kiteboard too!. Too many people show ideal examples in shallow water with no board. Thanks

Excellent step-by-step advice. This is worth practicing in other-than-emergency situations so that you can stay calm if/when you need to do it

Thanx and congrats for the idea of showing it on Land and on the water, loved it!! One think, i practice it myself and was not easy at allt o roll the lines on the bar, the wind was pulling me hard! I manage the situation but i did it at purpose so i recommend to everyone to try it once to feel the situation and be able to really handle it if needed. All the best!

Will you explain me what you do mean while with your board?

How much center line should you wrap on the first stage?
@OneWheelGuy1 Жыл бұрын
One thing I've never understood is why, when you get to the bar and start wrapping up the one line, do all the guides show wrapping it around the bar in a way that just uses up a few inches per wrap, rather than end-to-end on the bar like we would normally do. Wrapping around the bar the shorter way seems unnecessarily tedious. Every self-rescue guide does this, but I've never seen an explanation for why.

Where is a kiteboard in water? What you do with it?
@TheRiderExperience3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alexander, when rolling up your lines, you can keep the board on your feet while swimming or leave it floating next to you in the water, whatever feels more comfortable for you and the situation. While sailing back to shore with the kite, hold the board in the same position as if you were body dragging. In wavy conditions, be careful not to leave your board upwind of you in the water as it can hit you when a wave or gust comes through. In any case, if it feels too stressful or dangerous having your board around you, leave it behind and make it to shore safely just with the kites. Usually there should be other kitesurfers who can take back your board for you.
