I only just finished clearing Eldenhorn for the first time, 13 minute run that took me 1hr 40 minutes of attempts. I can't even begin to fathom how you make this game look so fucking easy, especially with some of the images I've seen of peoples first time clear of the final mountain being anywhere between 3-8hrs.

I refrained from watching any speedrun until I finished the game. I fell twice on the last mountain. Starting over. One run I put 10 hours into that mountain. The run I finished it took me about 12 hours... It was fun though.

is there some powermove ive missed? i know jumping off with crampons gives a hupe leap boost... i know swinging before gets even extra momentum and combined they let you jump rediculous hights, i know you can push this further by double grabbing, i know the pipe increases this again a bit. what i dont get is how he gets like double the hight and momentum of me every single time and can basically run up walls like its no issue. is it part of the gamemode or the golden picks he has? is there some buff or technique i missed during normal play?

Yesterday I died on ST after 6 whole hours (normal playthrough). I had like 200 meters left and my mouse literally just unclicked by itself. I feel to back to the 2000m ice wall. I then passed the ice sickle hell and made it back to 4000m then I fell down to 0m cuz there was nothing to grab onto. Yay. This map is brutal.

In YFYD and Free Solo, do you have to get the true ending (all peaks summited, you become OAS president) to unlock the golden items or just the normal ending (3 Great Tines summited, you become an OAS member)?

He's there ! The man ! The LEGEND ! I just started doing the first avian mode to have a bit of a break from Solemn Tempest. Hahaha... just one bird is already terrible. One question though... Is avian chaos only in a free solo mode ? Like without ropes and you fall you die ? Because if that's true it sucks. Anyway thank you a lot for these guides. They're extremly precious to me as really I don't see anyone else giving tips (except sometimes on the steam hub or reddit sub, and it's never as helpful as a video). It's a big help to make me go forward and try again.

Avian Chaos you can do in any mode, the achievement is for beating it in free solo

yes, its optional you dont have to do wally mode on yfyd for the statue but you do have to do avian chaos on free solo mode for the wings it rewards# you can do the birds on either normal mode, yfyd or free solo :3

Whoa that moment around 35:30. I would have shit myself, specially in a mode like that where you have to avoid any fatal fall all the time. This is really an impressive feat. Congrats ! I think the golden wings are really a worthy reward for doing all of this. Though it's sad you can't do stamps with it and get dumb time records. Anyway... awesome. Can I ask you (and anyone who plays the game) what key binds you use to alternate from hands to pickaxes ? I use shift myself for both hands at the same time because 1 and 2 as shortcuts mess with my direction, I can't press wasd and those at the same time.

The wings actually disable all stamps and time records so they are purely for enjoyment. I personally have both picks binded to the 1 button, definitely not the most ideal but I used to just do both 1 and 2 at the same time so it works for me. I definitely pooped myself a little bit there ROFL

How do you unlock wally mode? I've 100% the game on normal, got to bulwark on free solo, yet i dont have it?

It's hard to see -- there's a tiny bird icon on the main menu, before you select a save file. Click that and Wally mode will be enabled for whichever save you select: you'll also see a progress tracker above each save showing how much of it you've cleared with Wally. Note: save files started before a certain date won't be able to track the Wally progress. Try clearing a peak or two on your main save and then check the progress; if it's not incrementing, you'll have to start a new save. Not really a big deal as you'll have to clear all the peaks anyway, though you will have to re-collect the items if you want the related unlocks.
