I loved the Amiga 500 Fantastic machine

I liked the game back then on my A500. I think it already starts with a real nice selection of planes to choose from. Does anybody know if it runs with higher fps and correct gameplay speed on the A1200 or accelerated Amigas?

Man this sim was hard, to me.

Kinda makes me feel stupid to have spent the cash back then, and now coughing up again to play project wingman in VR today..

Never had an Amiga in my life, still enjoyed the video. From what I saw, it's a shame that Amiga failed.

I have fond memories of me and a buddy of mine playing this on the Sega CD back in the day and to think the company that made it went on to make Tomb Raider which we also played on my Sega Saturn, happy days indeed.

Gorgeous game, but I always had trouble when closing on a target, it seemed to disappear under my arc of fire before I could do it much damage. Maybe just me.

Towards the end of my amiga 500 years I was buying around 3 mags a month. Just for coverdisks & occasional type ins for Amos or something similar. But by then the content on some of the disks was limited or very brief demos of some game that I wasn't interested in, anyway. And yes, there was full priced offerings on disk but not all of those were something that you could jump straight in with. Looking back, they should have offered more coding content. Just like the majority of the 8bit mags did. Typing in small games/screen tricks/ game cheats made computer magazines more exciting.

This is how a retro review is done! Nice ambience with the setup and a good overview of the game. I have to check out the game some day if it runs on an Amiga 1200.

Loved this game ,I had a speccy +2 and got the 128k version which required no reloading at all thank the lord. I used to get annoyed at landing 1 metre outside your base and getting captured.

I have this game on both amiga and cdi. I usually love cinemaware games, but I find this one to be slow and difficult, but I may need to give it some more effort.

Looks like Rev6 issue, late 1989 or mid 1990 due different LED lights and inclusion of Workbench 1.3.3. Excellent condition.

The only game ever offering X-15 and Blackbird. I got infected to flight sims virus thanks to Amiga (500).

LORDS OF THE RISING SUN is definitely the best strstegy game since DEFENDER OF THE CROWN. I even love the art works on the game box and the manual. The backgrounds are magnificent, the graphics are amazing, the characters are brilliant, and the soundtrack 🎵🎶 is stunning 😺👍🕹️. And this video deserves a big retrospective like from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮. Thank you 😺👍🕹️.

I loved this game - totally brilliant

All this does is remind me of the depressing lack of content that was there. I don't have much rose-tinted-glasses for most of this time to be honest. The magasine covers while artistic and vibrant really didn't say a lot and the CDs never held much of value. Didn't stop me buying most of them though.

I remember getting Workbench of the Month in the last issue of Amiga Active. Used to buy most Amiga Mag's of the time, still Amiga Addict is available today and on some News stands which is quite an achievement for almost 40yrs on for the best ever computer made.

Thanks for the memories! My all-time favorite was Amiga World, and Amiga Shopper secondly. AF's issue 115 featured my A600 fully towerized. Still having a big problem space-wise to keep all those issues stored! Keep up the great work ole' man. ;-)

I still have every issue of Amiga Format and Amiga Shopper - great times especially with all the “free” software.

I spent a lot of my early teenage years putting many flying hours into this outstanding game!! I had the disc version and was my favourite game on the C64! I would love the chance to play this again. Thanks for the excellent coverage and the memories 👊😄

Did the A1200 manual smell of pineapples the same way the Photon Paint 2.0's manual did with the A500 Arcade Action Pack?

I had this on the C128 and Amiga and this version is like 90% as good as the Amiga. Great game.
