How did you get that power supply out of the subwoofer box? I don't see how I can undo the screws that hold the power supply in the box.

Curious. Something along this lines could be the future of heating and cooling. Mini-splits are basically an upscaled version of this and they do very well. Because mini-splits run all the time they are very effcient. A scaled down mini-split, that was super cheap, replaceable and more like the $150 window air conditioner units you get at Walmart, yet had a power draw more inline with a refrigerator. (cost $10 a month to run) could be a hit product. Many places like sheds garages barns, people want some heating and cooling to control humidity and more, but don't need a full system.

Yeah folks you could have just used the whole Fridge with door removed or opened and made a card board cut out for the door and put fan inside the fridge and made air passages to circulate room air.

This just worked a treat! Although most say it is only a temporary fix, the alternative is far too expensive and beyond being economically viable imo certainly for a CECHC03 model which I just repaired for a friend using this method, I would suggest the Frankenstien GPU replacement etc might be worth it on an A00 / A01 model but not a C03. I will report back how long it does / doesnt last if I can. I also used some Topnik RF800 SMD No Clean solder and basically tipped a load behind the GPU and followed your guide, I didnt have an Infrared Thermometer gun so I just ran my hot air station at 350c over the chip for 2-3 mins and success no more YLOD!

There's absolutely no way you were able to melt the solder balls under THAT GPU. That's a type of GPU you need heating table and a pretty powerful air soldering station. More like there was dirt under the GPU and by heating it, you managed to dry that thingie so now, electrically, it does not do what it did before. That's the only way this may work.

Great job. Only one thing wrong. You need to have fan and evaporator inside, and leave condensor and compressor out. Would be cool if you could be able to shut door and leave condensor part out, and allow just the fan and evap to cycle and cool the air that is in the room, not drawing warm outdoor air over the evap. Great idea though.

This is not a fix. Fix would be to reball it. Its not PlayStation where dye and substrate separate, the issues with GPUs is substrate separate from the PCB which needs to be reballed.
