Recognizing me so much in what you say. I used to knit and crochet the cutest little vintage (1930-40) clothes for my daughter when she was a little girl, but now I feel like a Bambi on slippery ice. Really unsure. But I really want to knit and dream of actually making something vintage for myself. Have a whole box of vintage knitting and crochet tutorials. <3

Just discovered your channel after enjoying your video on outfits inspired by Georgia O’Keefe. Loving your series of outfits inspired by artists - and it reminded me of an exhibition I went to in Paris in March of work by the artist Lisa Fonsssagrive-Penn, who was a dancer, model, photographer, pilot, sculptor AND atelier 😮 I hope you feature her in your style series I think you’d love her.

Tara, I know exactly what you mean about ''Nothing fitting'', I use my blocks and my garments have begun to be either too tight or too big, I think it's time for new blocks to be made, it's been 3 years so I guess my body parts have shifted a bit. i LOVE the blue floral dress you are wearing, it really suits you.

For the blouse thats too small...the victorians would insert lace to add space to make it fit. Strategicly placed of course. You might try that to make it wearable.

I just arrived in your univers, I will stick close…great video! Very inspirational. I made a shirt dress with the “All blues” linen from M&M. So nice fabric, great choice!

absolutely love this pattern. have made 5 shepherd skirts so far and honestly just cant stop. so versatile and reminds me of the Dior skirt silhouettes. one adjustment i found helpful is adding 5 buttons on each side instead of 4 to avoid unnecessary bunching between the last button on the belt and the first one the skirt's body

Al your recent makes are so pretty. I really like the Georgia O'Keefe inspired dress with the broderie anglaise and pretty buttons. It's so nice to see what you've been making and hearing the stories behind each piece. Congratulations on 5000 subscribers!

Tara, I am new to your channel and thoroughly enjoying it. You are inspiring to me as I am going through a transition, style wise. I live in Australia and totally agree with you about the humidity and hot weather - much prefer cooler weather. I was born in Bournemouth and understand your love of being by the sea. Find the sound of the seagulls very relaxing. Your style and recent makes especially the last blouse and silk dress remind me so much of my late mother. I am 70 years young as a point of reference. Thank you for making my KZbin time so enjoyable. 😃

I thought it was just me, this love it one day then hating it the next time I put it on. It is good to know others have the same experiences. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Sometimes the smallest thing can change how an outfit looks and feels - a scarf, a belt or an altered collar, an application of lipstick. Great video.

I came upon this video completely by accident. I don’t make my own clothes but found it fascinating. You put a huge amount of work in producing this video! I’ve just remembered that when I was young my Mum used to buy ‘Vogue Patterns’ magazine alongside Vogue magzine

I love New Mexico. I’ve spent quite a bit of time in northern NM and southwestern Colorado in my life, and there is something so intoxicating about the high desert. The landscape is inspiring; it clears my head for new thoughts or something. I’m lucky to have a lot of time to travel, so I’ll load the animals up and find a place there where I can board my horse for a month or two and just luxuriate in the landscape. Riding is permitted in some state parks and public wilderness lands, and there are so many gorgeous places to camp! Edited to add: especially considering the wrap dress and the idea of repeat dressing, it reminds me of how, when I’m camping or at my family’s cabin, I basically have a uniform but it feels easy and functional, not restrictive or boring. I’d like to bring more of that spirit back to my non-vacation life as well! Though perhaps with a bit more polish and fewer bare feet :)

Yes there are many approaches to knitting socks. I am quite an experienced knitter by now, and I just completed my first pair too. I love your choice of yarn. At the end you asked for tips. I found an excellent KZbin tutorial with a pattern that I followed. She's Handmade by Florence and its "how to hand knit lace socks! Detailed beginner-friendly tutorial." I highly recommend it. Btw I didn't make them lacey.
