I did this randomly today, just recorded a couple random harmonies on my phone and tried to line them up afterwards on a software 😂had heard the Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell one, somehow it turned out good though. Picked a pitch that showed off my good bass today 😂

One of my favourite Disney songs. So good. I was lucky enough to see Adam 3 times in TO before the Broadway debut AND twice on Broadway. He is spectacular and this song is a heartbreaking/inspiring moment in the show. Pure magic.

The production team should have retired the play for at least 10 years after the last original actor, just to put some distance from the original to current.

In my opinion, the newer cats should never had happened. I get goose bumps every time I watch/listen to the original movie, I love it so much. So Grizabella is supposed to be an old cat, I really don't think Jennifer was a good fit for the role on that.

Because it was a film and not a Stage production, you needed to feel the emotion, see them on the Phantom's face when he's singing. Gerard's was the perfect voice for that. During MOTN he is showing that vulnerability and tenderness. BTW the clone is supposed to be a wax figure of Christine in a wedding dress. Look at Gerard's face when he's showing her. He's like a nervous child who needs her approval. But that's why she faints. And look at him again when she get's up in the morning. How unsure he is of himself. So his voice isn't for the stage, it's for those close-up, intimate moments you can hear a pin drop in the movie theater. From this movie I would take the Phantom over Raoul anyday...

I know somebody else priority but I'm just gonna put my 0.02 ERN in 1st off I love nonstop. Secondly they were still performing on Broadway when they did this. It took them 3 days Sound 2 performances And then they came on their off day the whole cast To do the more technical work

The characters of Jefferson and Madison besides all the good things they did for this great nation, also had their weakness on rivalry and when you go to a funeral (Hamilton's) your own conscience talks to you, and makes you examinate your behavior vs. the person who passed.

Late to the party here, and I agree with "saying yes" and going with impulses, but ONLY in rehearsal! Broadway shows are so tightly choreographed and the lights / sets / backdrops rely on the actors doing exactly what they are supposed to at the right time. As an ex-stage manager I had actors try to improv during performances, and it's a disastrous domino effect.

I am late to this but is this the arrangement done by Andy Rush? I love it and the song in general and I think it is Andy’s arrangement - I sang this about 20yr ago with Andy Rush as our conductor. The best memories and I have been obsessed with the arrangement and song since. It’s awesome see the song get the exposure and respect it deserves. So relevant in today’s Canada and important message!

First, Chris Jackson was a revelation in this role. So impressed by him in all respects. Second, and at the risk of being “political” and divisive, I think of Joe Biden when I hear this now. Especially the part where he says, “I want to sit under my own vine and fig tree…one last time.” Seriously, political opinions aside, I admire his fortitude and grace in laying down the burden of that office, moving us along and sitting under his own vine and fig tree.

Years ago, when I was struggling to get up at 4:30am, I wrote an affirmation on a card and posted it on my alarm clock. For 4 years now, every time I want to quit on myself and make excuses for staying in bed until the last minute, I overcome it by reading that affirmation before I hit “snooze”. The affirmation: “I am the one thing in life I can control. I am inimitable. I am an original. I’m not falling behind or running late. I’m not standing still, I’m lying in wait.”

"Hamilton" is a great musical and Lin Manual Miranda deserves any acclaim he has gotten or will get from it. However, I think his performance was the weakest of the original cast and I don't really understand why he put himself in it.

I got to admit the first time I watched/heard the show, she kind of flew under the radar because of how out of the world the rest of the cast was, but after several listens, I've grown to really appreciate her performance immensely and look forward to her numbers. She's a powerhouse in her own right.

Lea definitely knows this song well. She has sung it in concert (a long time ago). By the way: Lea does pick the key and Seth immediately jumps in - I’m pretty sure it’s the original key from the Disney film.
