Brother Imran, As salaam alaykum. May Allah reward you for your efforts. Amin. Brother one important point you are overlooking is the division within the ummah caused by our Muslim leaders. This division is a significant reason why many Muslims feel constrained. By not acknowledging this, you suggest that you disagree with protests. However, avoiding protests only serves to preserve the status quo and keeps the current misguided so called Muslim leaders in power without any change. When I say protest I don't mean acts of civil disobedience but a collective census and pressure and reminder to the colonial regime implemented Western so called Muslim King's, Princes, Prime ministers and presidents that they are failing the ummah. These leaders have to change. Please don't use the argument they are they as punishment to us. They are just accountable as we are if not even more so for taking the responbility of looking after the Muslims.

Jazakallahkhair for the video, but I believe Jihad was disregarded despite being the Islamic solution to the occupation of Palestine. Just because we do not physically possess weapons and the ability to liberate Palestine, it does not mean no one does. The armies of the Muslim world does have this ability thus it is there obligation to perform Jihad. However where does that leave us? Do we just let them get on with it without accounting them. Absolutely not. This is not how Islam works. Enjoining the good and forbidding the evil is one of the primary aspects of our Deen. As you have correctly identified Jihad is a ‘constraint’ thus we must focus on this. We must not neglect this just because we ourselves do not have the weapons and ability. We are one ummah and we must do our part by calling on the armies to do their obligation.

Look, in a time when the oppressor is butchering our brothers and sisters, raising concerns about the hijab and niqab during a protest here raises many suspicions about their priorities. Personally, I am not a huge believer in the idea of protests in general, not because it is against Islam-I could not find strong evidence explicitly classifying it as haram-but because, practically, it is not of much benefit. Direct confrontation is obviously the answer, but in a country that runs on free speech, protestors are doing the maximum they possibly can within their country's legal code to make a change. I do think it makes a difference in personal motivation and promotes Muslim brotherhood within that geography. I know some keyboard warriors might have already gotten red from reading my first line. To those people, ensuring the right to a person's life and dignity is a Muslim's responsibility, whether the oppressed is Muslim or not. Even if the oppressor identifies as Muslim, the zalim will be fought for his zulm. Taking ethical code from Liberalism and religion from Islam is the modern way of life for Muslims, and gatherings like this, although imperfect even in their ideal form, are certainly better than those putting the Ummah back into slumber when zulm is all around us. The message of Tauheed is above Hayya. Tauheed is not just about conceptually believing in the existence of one (random) deity, a lot of non-muslims do that too. Second, and most importantly-though this is not my only concern with people adopting positions like yours; there are more objections, but this is the biggest one-the concept of the nation-state is itself un-Islamic. There is simply little understanding of liberal concepts among Muslim masses, and the rulers of these so-called Muslim lands make no sense Islamically. There is certainly reverence for general rulers who do not go against Islam, and Caliphs certainly have their position. Who are these 'Muslim rulers' to be unconditionally obeyed? None of us have pledged bay'ah, our unconditional allegiance, to these rulers, and even if anybody hypothetically did, Allah and His Prophet are above them. If they exhibit traits of zulm, they are in the same category as Netanyahu and Pharaoh. Islam is above the so-called religions of the world and petty politics. Note to any fans and followers of specific groups. I am not alluding to any specific names, it's not productive nor my intention to discuss people, but the Islam as a Deen simply cannot be ignored for convenience. Allah is the true knower of Niyyahs. Discussing traits is relatively productive than people for Iblis is ultimately our enemy, inspiring Jinnkind and Humankind to deter from the straight path.

Our Enemies are fighting based on aqeedah which is false. They believe in Eretz Israel(the land of israel that God promised the jews) We the muslims have more reason to struggle for a cause since we are upon the correct aqeedah and believe in Allah. Im sure millions would be prepared to rescue Our Gazan brothers and sisters but we live in unprecedented times in which the munafiqeen of the ummah the traitors have been empowered to eliminate and counter anyone of the muslims who is willing to act honourably and bravely. حتى يميز الخبيث من الطيب Unfortunately the reality is for goodness to reign supreme evil must be eliminated, seperated from the good.

I appreciate the narrowing down of solutions however I couldn't help but feel something was missed. Yes the ummah is in a bad state, and munkar has spread like wildfire; but how do we stop that munkar? This is where the principle of commanding the good and forbidding the evil comes in. But we as an ummah need to be honest with ourselves and identify what is that specific munkar that is stopping the nasr of Allah from arriving? And this is the problem I believe isn't being addressed. We have so many da'ees calling for the Muslims to return to their fara'id and to stop the sins individually that are prevalent in society, this is actually the rhetoric that is dominant and most practicing Muslims today were impacted by this da'wah in order to come back to the religion - and that shows this da'wah is absolutely necessary. However, the suffering of our brothers and sisters around the world is a political problem, one caused by the impact of foreign policy and governmental decisions, and as is clearly evident - this dawah isn't stopping the blood of our brothers and sisters being spilled, and logically - how can calling Muslims to the masjid, stop governments from afflicting mass slaughter? Why are we acting as if a solution to one problem, will automatically solve another as if there are no steps to solve that issue specifically? For example, me fixing my salah will not automatically make me fast in ramadan, nor will it automatically make me pay my zakat. Although it will make me more God conscious, there are physical, shar'i steps that I have to take to implement the other two. The Prophet peace be upon him nurtured a small group of society - his sahaba - in Makkah, and that eventually led to the establishment of the state which served as a shield for the Muslims. This is what is missing today. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, the leader is only a shield behind whom they fight, and he protects them. If he commands the fear of Allah Almighty and justice, he will have a reward. If he commands something else, it will be held against him.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1841 This is why I fundamentally disagree with your evaluation that Jihad is something we can do nothing about. Whilst you are correct that we physically cannot partake in it, as offensive jihad is something that requires capability. We can definitely call those who have the capability to do, like the Muslim armies (this is their obligation!). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said "Whoever among you sees evil should change it with his hand. If he is unable to do so, then with his tongue. If he is unable to do so, then with his heart and that is the weakest level of faith." Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 49 To summarise, how do we - and when I say we, I'm referring to Muslims that are establishing their fara'id and are practicing - make an impact in this aspect? We need to command the good and forbid the evil to those whom have the capability to change the situation, as this is a situation that can only be solved by those whom have capability and military strength.

Here are some evidences of holding those in power to account. The Prophet peace be upon him said "Nay, by Allah, you either enjoin good and forbid evil and catch hold of the hand of the oppressor and persuade him to act justly and stick to the truth, or, Allah will involve the hearts of some of you with the hearts of others and will curse you as He had cursed them". Source: Riyad as-Salihin 196 The Prophet peace be upon him said "'When the people see the wrongdoer and they do not take him by the hand, then soon Allah shall envelope you in a punishment from him.'" Source: Jami' at-Tirmidhi 2168 The Prophet peace be upon him said: "In the near future there will be Amirs and you will like their good deeds and dislike their bad deeds. One who sees through their bad deeds (and tries to prevent their repetition by his band or through his speech), is absolved from blame, but one who hates their bad deeds (in the heart of his heart, being unable to prevent their recurrence by his hand or his tongue), is (also) fafe ( so far as God's wrath is concerned). But one who approves of their bad deeds and imitates them is spiritually ruined." People asked (the Holy Prophet): Shouldn't we fight against them? He replied: "No, as long as they say their prayers." Source: Sahih Muslim 1854 The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah Almighty will not punish a community for the sins of a few unless they see evil appear among themselves and, while they are able to reject it, they do not. If they do not, then Allah will punish the sinners and the entire community.” Source: Musnad Ahmad 17720

I appreciate the advice but I have a few questions How do you explain the ayah in Surah Al ra’d and anfal that mentions Allah doesn’t change the state of a people until they change themselves? can you stop the leader? If not then doesn’t make sense to make this the contraint? If the only ones you can forbid evil and enjoin good with regard to is yourself and those around you should we not focus on that ? Remember In our deen the process of rectification is button up not top down If we fix ourselves Allah will reward us with better governors and rulers And I leave with the ayah i mentioned in the question above Allah doesn’t change the state of a people until they change themselves Ya Allah correct us Ameen

@@ImranIbnMansur Barakallahu feekum akhi. The ayah in Surah Ar-Ra'd doesn't contradict what I said. My point was about commanding the good and forbidding the evil, this is a necessary step in changing oneself and others - also note the ayah mentions "qawm" (a people), it doesn't say "fard" (individual) - but that's a side point. My point was to emphasize the specific ma'rouf that we are not commanding and the specific munkar that we are not forbidding. Akhi commanding the good and forbidding the evil isn't dependent on whether we believe it's practical or not or whether the rulers will listen or not. It's a fard and we have to do it no matter what. Please refer to the hadith I gave akhi, when the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him mentioned the weakest of faith is hating the munkar in your heart, tell me what practical step will that achieve? How will that change the situation of the ruler? Hence the point is to save yourself by at least putting in some effort. Why not do both? As mentioned in my first comment the da'wah that is done today is absolutely necessary but the da'wah on a state level is absolutely necessary too. Classifying the process of rectification in our deen as bottom up is a gross simplification and un-factual statement akhi. Why was the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him seeking nusrah from the various leaders of tribes in Makkah? A simple look at the seerah would make you realise that there is a combination of bottom up and top down approaches used and to be honest I don't even like using these terms as they grossly simplify the method of change in our religion. Again akhi as mentioned before, if I establish salah, will Allah reward me with establishing syam or zakah? I'm not denying they relate as Allah mentioned that salah prevents fahishah and disobedeince: but my point is that there are still shar'i/physical steps that need to be taken to establish the syam and zakah. My problem is that the specific method that is prescribed to make a change is being copped out by essentially saying - be a good muslim and Allah will reward you. Now bare in mind, that statement is absolutely true - but the average practicing Muslim doesn't really believe that the prescribed solution to make change in the shariah will make you a good muslim and that's the issue.
