Hey, Hi I just researched for actors showreels and I came across your video. I'm a videographer trying to get more into cinematography focusing on making showreels, short film and even a movie someday. I like your acting! You're very convincing without overacting. Every shot looked natural to me that I just subscribed. Wishing you a lot of success! Ken

Personally, I wouldn't hire you. I am not sure what is up with your generation but stating your pronouns at the beginning of your video is nonsensical. It shows me that you are willing to say/do things even though they don't make sense. Here's an idea, start thinking for yourself. Spend time visiting other countries around the world.

Hey Julia! I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for being such an inspiration to me. Your videos have motivated me to start my journey in UX, and I can't thank you enough for that. I am currently enrolled in the Google certificate course, and with your guidance, I have learned so much. I am determined to keep learning and growing in my field, and I would love to know your thoughts on whether I should attend design school or pursue self-learning through various platforms. Also, I am curious to know which website you used to create your portfolio. Thanks for all that you do!

This comment brings me sooo much joy! Thank you for sharing this, and welcome to the Design community <3. Comments like yours remind me why I make this content on the first place. For your questions: I am planning on making a long-form video on exactly this topic, so more on that, but I have a reel that summarizes my opinon: instagram.com/p/C4qmkhooFPG/ As for my portfolio, I made it on Squarespace ;)

Totally agree with what you're saying. I did read an interesting explanation to the usage of the term. If companies hire for "UX designers", they get more applicants who are not good at UI design. By hiring for "UI/UX designers" they get applicants who (at least claim) they know UX design, and they are good at UI design. Other skills are of course important when working as a UX designer, but UI design skills are the easiest to evaluate during the hiring process compared to, for example, UX research.

Yup, I see that in my work environment. Management praises people who can do everything and master everything all at once. But how can one stand out as an individual contributor and designer when you're expected to be everything? One person can't be perfect in all things haha there's always one strong skillset you have and I don't think everyone realizes that. It eventually leads you to feel compared to your peers, to the point where it drains the joy out of you. I'm grateful that I decided to take a step back :)

Do a scene from already made movies (remake) but make sure you bring something new to the characters, ik sometimes its hard but get friends involved if you can. It makes it a hell of a lot funner and usually makes a better story or something like that lol. You can also look into local colleges and see if they need actors for student films. PUT AUDITION TAPES IN the good ones lol. (Which if this is brand new to you anything is better than nothing) Lastly, update it accordingly to how often you're being filmed or making these. (Every 6 months, 1 year , 2years just make sure you have a plan for you to make a new one at some point) GOOD LUCK AND LOTS OF LOVE ❤️

Cannot hear a single word they’re saying. Is this an aesthetic hipster coffee shop or an educational bit? Also where is the passion here? It feels so corporate and clinical. Like, zero fun, narrative, vision.

What you said at the end is very true, that's what I just told my son. Even if you dont make it you're smarter and your gpa will still be high to not be so limited in schools you can attend. I'm sure you still got a high GPA to be able to get into any college out of your college choices 😊. Did you decide to go to college and what's your major?

@@Nerdalert417dude it’s not worth it honestly I’ve been applying to jobs for so long ever since I made that comment and literally no one cares but set that aside go for ap classes in your best subjects
@Nerdalert417
@Nerdalert417 Жыл бұрын
@CrackScience Idk, I think it depends on what area you're in. Becoming Valedictorian is next to impossible though if you don't know what you're doing, considering you need to focus well, demonstrate good behavior and leadership, and get great grades, GPA, and academic achievements all 4 years at high school. I want to at least try, because I did similar to this in my previous middle school years. How did you become Valedictorian?
@michaelwa7
@michaelwa7 Жыл бұрын
@@Nerdalert417 You shouldn't go for number one, it's not worth it, and you sacrifice relationships with others. Coming from a tenth grader, take 2 (no more than three a year) AP Classes AFTER freshman year, and focus on quality of the grades and subjects you want to learn, not the quantity. Understand fewer subjects better. That quantity is where stress comes from, and from the quality part comes happiness and a sense of purpose in life. Make sure you try to go to bed before 11 every night, because believe me, all of that missed sleep piles up on you. When you focus on the quantity part, the lack of sleep causes your brain to do weird things and want to shut down, but when you focus on quality, meaning 2 AP's a year in STEM or what you are passionate about, you get better rest and a better understanding of all classes. It is for this reason that after sophomore year, I will only have completed two AP classes, and both are ones that are interesting to me. I go to a very large school, one where at least 100 people in my grade out of 850 are trying to be number one. But those 100 people show up to school like zombies, and pull countless all-nighters every month. Please consider my comment and also realize that middle school shouldn't be taken too seriously. Get your teachers to like you and put you in the right classes in 9th grade. Good luck

For me a lot of the burnout isn't even about how much work I'm doing or how much I'm working, it's emotional burnout due to an unhealthy work culture (among other things going on in my personal life). When I'm on a team with a good team culture and clear and reasonable expectations I can be really motivated, but if I'm on a team that constantly puts pressure on me and expectations of me aren't really consistent or reasonable, that can really sap my motivation. I have ADHD and experience anxiety symptoms.

I started my first job as a junior UX /UI designer 3 months ago, I am the only designer in the company which makes it super difficult. I started feeling burnout creeping in a few weeks ago :( I am taking more breaks, and I am trying to relax but I do feel 'bad ' for not working as much as I should. Thank you for sharing your experience. :)
