these tips and tricks were so incredibly helpful to me as an soon to be internship/jr design position hunter 🙌 definitely applicable to new workers on any job i think as well :) as a side note, i was curious if you continue to work on your portfolio whilst in an internship or wait until your done to put together a case study? i am currently starting mine and am trying to plan ahead in terms of projects and website builders (i made a pros and cons list for Semplice vs Webflow vs Squarespace and am still lost 😭) so if you have any tips based on your portfolio/website building experience i would love to hear!

Hi Lauren! So so SO glad that these tips could be helpful for you. That's a really great question. I personally wait until I'm done (typically during the last few weeks of the internship when interns are off-boarding) to start on my case studies. Otherwise, my brain would be trying to do too many things at once. As for portfolio websites, my mentor told me a great word of advice to just choose the past of least resistance. To me, that meant Squarespace because I didn't have to worry about coding and my experience was very swift! However, just because it was the best for me doesn't mean it's the best for everyone. Another way to think of it is to ask yourself what an MVP of a portfolio site would look like-this way, you have a minimum benchmark that you have to reach, and then you can worry about customization after you have the foundation of the website done.
