The original Sony FX6 Tilta V-Mount Plate already comes with a 2 Pin Lemo to plug into the camera. Edit: I'm sorry this is in accurate. I forgot that I changed the original connector 12V Barrel 2.1 to the Lemo connector I got off Amazon. Please excuse my error here. I made this mod back in April when we were first waiting for the camera to release.
@JacobEttingerАй бұрын
Technically Shape has a V mount plate for the Pyxis that mounts to the top of a cage and can swing up or down by a button push. Essentially same spacing you created here. I'd just rather go with something like Shapes than this due to the exposed wire and connector. Like the other comments below, there is an issue potentially that may damage the motherboard.
@bmefilms6879Ай бұрын

@earnieboy54Ай бұрын
Pass. The plates are created for each camera for a reason and that plate has already given a LOT of fx6 users main board nightmares. Just use the plate included and designed for the Pyxis kit! Power may be okay now but it’s going to wear on the camera over time and the expiration date is too random to risk. Could be fine for a year or 2 or fine for a day or 2. Too risky to be considered a solution
@motionpikczerАй бұрын
Good advice from an FX6 owner. There have been a lot of cases of motherboards being burned by this adapter recently. My three tips: 1. Always have a small PBU battery inside the camera. If the power is cut off (vlock discharge), there will be no short circuit. Only the accessories will turn off. 2. I definitely recommend the MINI Vlock adapter from Tilta. Much more secure battery mount, 2xdtap, 2pin lemo + PD USB (you can directly power e.g. DJI SDR) 3. Several times, e.g. when panning on a tripod or easyrig, it was easier to grab the vlock batteries from the back - this adapter very easily catches the slack and for a micro second the camera loses power. Be very careful about this or change to a mini vlock adapter.

Nice review of this cage system. I generally like Tilta products, and this one looks pretty nice. I see that it can be configured to allow the PYXIS for vertical shooting. It's not something I intend to do, but the side screen becomes a top screen for people shooting vertical content. Q: Is the bottom plate that connects to the LWS baseplate Manfrotto compatible, or is it proprietary to the LWS baseplate?

Sorry i hope someone can help me answer this dum question. Whats the deffrence between the PL and EF. Whats the pro and cons of choosing onve over the other. Thanks
@JoeElementzАй бұрын
@@bensmart3569 Positive Locking mount (PL) provides secure mounting system for that kind of lenses as they are usually heavy and are built for cinema application. This means that 1. They will have focus gear ⚙️ and 2. A set of the same lens shares the same colour representation. Example of the lens has a slight tint of colour all the set will be the same. This helps with post production. Overall PL lenses more intentionally designed compared to Not PL like EF where each lens can have a different look. Just in a nut shell 🐚

I agree with your assessment of the battery adapter sticking out too much. Seems like Tilta took a shortcut and just re-used the FX6 moulds for this camera. Lazy from them and a real shame!
@davidp158Ай бұрын
Tilta is very responsive to customer feedback, so it would be worth mentioning this to them. It wouldn't surprise me that they come out with a better solution for this. Maybe they were trying to get this to market and re-used parts from the FX6. I like using the battery as a point on contact, so I'm not sure this would bother me. However, I do agree it could be somewhat shorter. Otherwise, it looks like a really nice cage. Many of the other cages I've seen are overkill, expensive and probably a lot heavier.
@StMediaNLАй бұрын
I created a similar mount myself and printed it. Works great. I also tested some larger and shorter distances, I think they're quite spot on distance wise so you can still comfortably access all cables/card slots. I really like it this way.
@earnieboy54Ай бұрын
They also made it that way because at the end of the day, the cf express and the IO connections need space and v mounts aren’t made with equal sizes. It wasn’t lazy, it was them working around the Pyxis slightly janky design.

@StMediaNL yes I saw that but the question is does the Samsung T9 rugged fit or just the regular T7.... the Samsung T9 is too thick I think. Have you tried any of them?
@StMediaNLАй бұрын
@ t9 rugged: 60mm x 88mm x14mm Cage ssd holder max dim: max 60 and max 12 height. So no. The rugged t9 is 2mm too thick. Width of 60 works. So if you sand the thickness of the drive down then it will fit. However remove the rubber/silicone sleeve around it and you get a much sleeker drive that will probably fit. If not make your own custom case for it. This was a 30 sec Google my friend…
