Drone is doing an amazing job following you especially on curves where it kind of figures out which way you are heading instead of following your from behind. Must be AI powered. Great narration too.

I have made that trip many times when I have gone to Laughlin. Absolutely love it. Should have mentioned that you can see the Laughlin casinos from Sitgreaves Pass. Oatman is always a blast even just to stop for a few minutes.

As someone who drove mountain and desert roads in the 70's and 80's from the Sierras to the Rockies, I wonder about your hyperbole. Descriptions you use: heart-stopping, dangerous, deadliest, scariest, notorious, creepy. None of these routes you show seem daunting. They are extraordinary in their beauty, but frightening no. Just to name a few well-known that were a bit more intimidating back then with narrower roads. There is Independence Pass between Aspen and Leadville, the route from Yosemite to Highway 395, even the Pike's Peak road. What's a guard rail? Those are main ones, there are many smaller ones which I drove in just two-wheel drive cars or trucks. Then there was also driving in the mountains in Baja California where sometimes I forded streams. For example, going to remote hot springs or to the trail head to hike to Pichacho del Diablo from the west.

Having lived in La Jolla in the 60's and 70's, there was even some affordable housing then, I know it quite well. This is repetitive on just a few sites. It doesn't go north to Scripps and Black's Beach nor south towards Pacific Beach nor east to Mount Soledad. I was surprised to see this here.

I was a kid when the Metrocenter mall opened. It was quite a place with its indoor ice skating rink and tons of stores. We used to go there every couple of weeks. Sad that era is over.

The first two story mall I ever saw. We thought it was enormous when it was new. My high school was also a location for Bill and Ted’s Ex. Adv. It has also been demolished. It was a mid century classic and they rebuilt it as a modern day school/prison. Coronado High School in south Scottsdale AZ.

I drove this route with my new husband, & I assure you, once was more than enough. Never again! If I wanna get to Fort Mohave or Oatman, I'm going the other was, via Needles. No, I'm not going by way of Golden Valley, down that scary, life claiming 6 1/2% grade mountain road thru Union Pass either! There was one strange thing that happened on 66 to Oatman tho', but UFO are not unheard of in Golden Valley, so methinks one wandered over that way. Nothing too strange, unless you consider a fat, solid blue plane, not moving nearly fast enough to maintain in the air, that went beside one of the small hills, the Vegas side of the road that not only didn't exit, but then it wasn't in the photos either.👽 It's probably hanging with that rather prism that's also is Golden Valley, high in the sky.

my wife and I (probably around 2014 or so) we were staying in Scottsdale... We drove up to Payson ( via 87 - beautiful drive). We left Payson after lunch, and drove a short while on the 260 and then attempted to drive some of the forest? road along Mogollon Rim - but the access road was closed due to snow. We came back down thru Payson to the 188 and thru the Indian Reservation? down to Roosevelt Lake, crossed the bridge and picked up the Apache Trail. None of that early part (after the bridge) was paved to my recollection. A mile or two down the road a big bull was just ambling down the road - we carefully passed, but he didn't really care about us. Stopped at Apache Lake, a little later crossed the Fish Creek bridge, up and over Fish Creek hill, passed Tortilla Flats (which I wished we would have stopped to visit, but didn't) and then along Superstition Mtns. to Apache Jct to Mesa and back to Scottsdale. We had no problems with the road at any point other than a little roughness here and there, and if I remember correctly a little washout on the edge of the road going up Fish Creek hill (probably around the steepest part). I'm pretty sure we were driving our 4wd Tundra. It was a very scenic trip.

Please always remember that the Archaeological Resources Protection Act of 1979 (ARPA) forbids anyone from excavating or removing archaeological resources from federal or Native American land without a permit from a land managing agency. ARPA also forbids any sales, purchase, exchange, transport, or receipt. Those who violate can face substantial fines and even a jail sentence if convicted, and any relevant archaeological resources will be confiscated.

Yup, weekends when I was a teen, when it was boomin! People used to cruise around and also hang out at Castles n Coasters and the food court at the mall was also a big scene, funny to look back at that now...sad to see this one go but it was dead for years, wish I coulda went in it one more time but I did a few years ago before it was closed and it was eerie cuz hardly anyone was there and most of the stores were gone, got some pics that day too.

I grew up near metro in the 90's/early2000's. My mom worked there and would take me to work with her over the summers while I skated at VANS skatepark. So many memories, free samples from Mrs fields, looking at all the crazy stuff inside Spencer's 😂 I remember buying The Eminem Show on audio tape at Sam Goody. I still have one of the river rocks from the indoor fountains. So sad to see what happened that area..

I've never bern there in AZ. This is happening to malls all over the country. It's sad to me I spent so much time at the mall near me. There are like maybe 5 stores and 2 anchor stores in a huge mall. There is also a car place like classic cars. The tiny mall near me turned into a plaza but still has a Subway, a jewelry store and Cadino

Hi Jesse, Way back in 1965 I was 22 yrs old and drove my ‘64 Corvair from Pittsburgh to Southern California. Ever since then I’ve had a nostalgic fascination with Route 66! It was unusual for a young woman to make that long drive by herself. My parents were flipping out and made me promise not to speed (they knew my need for speed) and to call them every night. What an adventure that was. I specifically remember the gas/food/rest station in the first part of your clip. I’m a happy 80 yr young grandma now, and my traveling days are over, so a huge thank you for your content!! I’ve tried to retrace my journey but most of 66 is now super highway. Many blessings to you and yours at this holiday season! Kathy

Also from Pgh, owned a '64 Corvair. Never took it out of state. But years later, I drove a van to SoCal, mostly along the old Rt 66 (it was simply the most direct route).
