as someone who has tried 30mph+ on a push bike with vee brakes with zero suspension, it's terrifying. Wheel balancing definitely a problem, stopping definitely a problem. Dealing with the unpredictability of other road users is a problem. Get yourself some 302s from uberbike (or anywhere else reputable) and some nice pads before seriously riding it on the roads.

I'd love to see some i4 or even v configuration engines, just to see how much power you could extract from this air engine concept

I like your work but hate watching you struggle with science. Place a stop 180° from the release point. Have a bar release and slide outward. When this happens all kinetic energy will be transferred to what can move. Then you'd be using a hypersonic propulsion system to fire a pea.

Use a coil that's copper on the outside but uses aluminium on the inside or fully aluminium coils. They are lighter for the conductivity they offer and a ferrite/neodynium core would go FAR in increasing the magnetic flux, no second coil needed!

use graphite, gallium or mercury (lol) as a lubricant on the brushes, prevents a LOT of losses. The brushes should be properly spring loaded too.

My first ebike was a very early Chinese steel framed sakura ebike but when I got it it's controller kept cutting out. As it was 36v brushed DC I just put a micro switch on the handlebar so it was literally on or off. Sounds dodgy but it was actually totally ridable, you get going a bit then turn it on. I travelled hundreds of miles on it. It was surprisingly efficient because there was no controller and you only turned it on when you needed it. This was a totally lazy non intellectual solution but it worked. 👍😄

I had a air hog as a kid, for a short few minutes. On about the 3-4 flight, trying to trim it out to make it fly a circle. The first circle it flew, it went all the way around my house and out over the road, a dump truck just happen to be driving by and it landed in the bed of the dump truck going down the road and I never saw it again lol! True story.

Try using Mosfets and hall sensors to time the field crossings - you should consider it a bit of a synchrotron or linac to adjust for velocity changes. You can run this inside a tube with field coils along the length. Have the sledge with battery power - no sparking brushes, so it could run faster with no contact welds! So, it runs much quicker, switching - faster field collapse/growth, so it has more incredible speeds. I consider this a fun project, but I don't have a 3D printer. I always thought the consumer market would do well with a VTOL/2-Rotor design drone. Able to save on battery life, and potential for increase of speed. I love the idea of a DJI drone where I can go 30m/s and then go into a hover mode for arial photography.
