Going to have game night with a friend of mine to relive some of the first games we played on ZX48 (well there where many games, but not that many "great" games"). We then bought a C64 (so we will mostly play C64 and Amiga games), and there where many more games but also so many many great games... and demos ofc... But I will download a early C64 game and then show this demo... It's a demo to demonstrate what fixed hardware can do thru the ages with brilliant software... Awesome stuff!

How did they manage to play so much sampled sound towards the end? The only explanation I can think of is they managed to load from disk while it was playing which for a C64 is amazing, wouldn't believe it was even possible, especially with other things going on too.

I'm not a fan of C64 demos because I went the other way down the BBC Micro road, but this is one seriously good demo. Doing all those transitions and getting them right must have taken AGES. Oh and it looks like they stole a few ideas from Rink A Dink Redux, but since that's an amazing demo, who can blame them? Not me.

Am I correct that these would have been accomplished using assembly language? If so, do any of the guys from the Atari 8 bit era ever release their source code to show what tricks they're using now that they don't have competition to worry about stealing their tricks?
