Genshin is actually a pretty good game from start to finish, as someone who's played it for years at this point, but Honkai Starrail is 100% a better crafted experience and they obviously care more about it. Still, you can enjoy all of genshin's meaningful content comfortably without spending a dime. Money comes into play if you either want to whale to be in the top 1% (which is where the vast majority of the money is) or are one of those collector types that has to have all the characters.

I think genshin deserves an 8 at least. I ain't a genshin fan and only play it when i get board but the world building, character arc, weapons and the artifacts in later stages are really good. Moreover, shit is filled with content with more coming out. The main problem i see with this game is the amount yapping you have to endure....like, holy fuck, why does everyone yap so much in that game.

What you say about L-cancelling being air dodging into the ground isn't exactly true. L-cancelling works with a soft (analog) trigger presses (or Z like Sakurai wrote), and it halfs the length of all landing animations, it doesn't replace the landing animations with an air dodge. Air dodges require full (digital) trigger presses. So the inputs to perform the two techniques aren't even really the same.

An open world amored core game that's mostly offline except for pvp, with souls like bosses and npc chracters to fight to get better parts upgrades. A story that is basically open ended similar to the first mass effect games but the protagonist always win with a good feelings ending. An halo openworld game with quests and loot, but no rpg elements on weapons and damage. Starting with the end of reach, where your player chracter actually survived. You fight the covenant and beat them saving the remaining unsc and oni and civilian survuviors. Slowly building a ship to escape, while building and researching better tech to keep the covvies at bay. Eventually escaping into another galaxy fighting a new darker enemy, but with caviout of anyone can become a spartan with the ability to become even better that a spartan 2. Pvp is similar to infinite, but no dysync as the store is a seperate program from the main game, so no constantly downloading. Limited gpu or video card resources access so that it won't bog down the game or cause more dysync. Also pvp is based upon the idea of speed and functionality is more important than cosmetics. Sticky aim and aim assist are the same for all ports. Damage on the head even with shields will get you easy kills, no more making any weapons unusable for people with mid bandwidth speeds. Meaning how the damage tables are and mechanics are when it comes out is the way it stays no nerfs or buffs. You can sidestep shots they miss due to you aren't slowed down, like infinite. Every precision weapons is semi auto no three round burst unless it's in the assault rifle category and you can spam the trigger to fire faster. Snipers no longer need to have a shot led anymore. Ranked Play is gone entirely replaced with massive maps with no rpg elements at all, damage is damage no rng crap. No sbmm period. With pve variation called take it back. As in you can rewrite halo history for the better as a bunch of Spartans show up to right the wrongs of the past. On a galactic scale similar to helldivers. All of which can be played offline or online for free.

Small correction. An L-cancel doesnt involve a wavedash at all. It wasnt just known about, it was intentional. Its written into the code that pressing a shoulder button at all within a specific timing window before landing with an attack will speed up its endlag animation. You dont even need to fully press the shoulder button in until when it clicks. If it was pressed enough for a light shield, it was pressed enough for an L-cancel. Solid video though!

I really hate the type of commercials, which a see a multiple times: the mother with a kid are struggle with cold and hunger, but the gamer is an idiot who don't know how to fix a window in a very simple game option so both mother and kid died. It's a very sadistic way to force a gamer to download this game, because: "Hey! They are dying! Why don't you rescue them?" They force you to feel sorry for this persons, who will not survive, if you - just you - will not download this game. This commercials are similar and the games themselves have nothing similar to them - the games themselves are complete different. It's just a dirty trick. Every time a see an every second of this - I know, what's coming and just do smth else, I don't look at my phone till the end. Because it's annoying, it's very annoying. I play games to have some fun after a hardworking day, but these commercials try to make you feel heartbroken and sad, just to - again - force you to download this product

It's funny you brought up toys-R-us because I had the exact opposite thong happen to me once. This is unrelated to borderlands too. So when I was 14, I had a DS and some money and I looked at the games they had because the paper said they were having a buy on get one game half off deal. So I went in and I picked resident evil DS and some other game and I went to the counter. The guy looked at resident evil and said "man, this is so good, I used to love resident evil on my PlayStation." And he paused and looked and said "well it's rated M". He looked at me for s second, looked around and then said "I'm going to make an exception because resident evil is a must play and I played it at your age" and he let me get it and he made me promise I'd beat it. And I did and I had a great time. One of the coolest store experiences I had as a kid
