Its not a castle, its a star fort. And I think they dug it out of the mud. These star forts are to be found globally, there's one in Angola, but I only know of these 2 in Africa. I think they were dug out of the mud and claimed to have built them. Table Mountain's history is not what we think.

I have mixed feelings about this place. We booked a chalet and other family was at the tent site. We arrived just after 2 and the lady just pulled up to "clean" but the place wasn't as clean. Luckily I brought my own dishwasher because I had to wipe down the counter top and every dish I wanted to use I had to clean beforehand. The plumbing was also not good. It seemed like the toilet was blocked. Not a good place for older people because the pools for the guests are far if u're older or struggle to walk and the main pool is a drive away. If u don't like walking not a good place. I also want to note that we had a chalet that had a top section for kids but the stairs was very steep. I don't think it's safe for small kids. Maybe it was just that particular chalet I don't know. However, the pools were fantastic. I liked the hot pool. The camp site is so much better though. The public toilets are clean and flushable. There are sinks and even a washing machine. I would recommend camping.It was an ok weekend but it's not at the top of my list.
