I watched a documentary about the sherpas recently. It was suprising how much infrastructure the sherpa have in place to make it easier and safer for the hundreds of climbers to make the climb. They have many ladders permently placed across dangerous crevis's and steep slick areas to make it easier and hopefully have fewer deaths. There are ladders and also ropes permently placed in the most challenging areas. The brave climbers who where the first or very early climbers if Everest had none of the infrastructure when they made the climb. This is now adventure tourism and people shouldnt have to die to try to save them... because of their desire to feed their inflated ego
