Wow, as I watched this with tears rolling down my face, is great to see someone else walking in my shoes. Your dad reminds me of my dad he too served in the Navy. My dad served onboard USS LYMAN K. SWENSON from 1969-1971. My dad bought his first motorcylce which was a 2011 Tri Glide Ultra Classic. He bought it in 2018 and he loved it. He did not ride a lot it had 14,681 miles on it, it has 14,931 on it now. I never cared for motorcycles I am a car man, Mustangs in particular. I just lost my dad in July 2024, he was 75 and he decided in March of this year he wasn't going to ride anymore due to health concerns. Since January 2024 I would go and follow behind him as he rode his trike just to make sure no one would rear end him as he would pop the clutch and stall at take off sometimes. So every Sunday I would go over and follow him around the neighborhood just a 3 mile ride. It was sad to hear him say he wasn't going to ride anymore because the joy it gave him was immeasurable. Knowing how much these Bikes cost, I told him to sell it and enjoy his money. He said no I will leave it for you and you can sell it or do what you want. I told him I would never sell it because it was a bond we had. The last time I rode a motorcyle it was a race bike, my friend had a Ducati, I was 20 I'm 50 know. After Pops passed in July I rode his bike for the first time. I cried the whole time because 1. it was pops bike and all I could remember is following him. 2. I finally realized what he felt when he rode it. The feeling of freedom and the open rode, I did not understand it until I was on it riding. I took the Harley Davidson motorcycle course and recieved my riding license. I have a lot to learn about the culture and care and maintenance of the trike and the twin cam engine. Thanks for the video and It's great to see how you honor your dad as I honor mine.

Much obliged... My condolences. Yeah, my dad got started late. I convinced him to buy a bike just before he retired. He was considering buying/building another hotrod Mopar. Now he loves riding. He had a stroke back in June of last year just before he and I were supposed to ride to Milwaukee for Harley-Davidson's 120th anniversary. I ended up riding his bike to Milwaukee. Fast forward, we had an awesome year since then. My dad and I were a part of Harley's 2024 model launch. I have a few videos about the experience here on my channel. Look for the "Daytona bikeweek videos" and "1000 mile Milwaukee video." Also, GOOGLE: "Harley-Davidson Boiled Peanuts" Thanks for sharing your story. Please ride his bike as long as you can. I don't know what part of the world you're in, but I hope to meet and ride with you.

This mechanic was not telling the truth. The rocker tray bushing are non existent. That’s why rocker lockers were invented. These engine came from the manufacturer with rocker try noise. Put a high lift cam in and it sounds like a toolbox being tossed around in the back of a pickup truck. So that statement is untrue. There are no bushings in the rocker tray from the factory.
