You really went to extremes: from the campfire folky Big Yellow Taxi to Mingus ! If you want a roadmap on how she went from this to that, check out Cold Blue Steel & Sweet Fire (1972), Car On A Hill (1974), and Hejira (1976). By then, she was ready for a full jazz immersion.

"World Machine" was the break out album for them into the mainstream. A beautiful album musically and productionwise but that was the beginning of the end for the Gould brothers who didn't like the direction they music was going. They managed, "Running in the family" and the tour but that's when they left. They toured so, so hard and finally started to make money but I'm still a fan today after 40 odd years as they still rock!

Great reactions Brandon!! The 60's/70's Moodies will forever be my go-to! The magic of the first (core) 7 albums is unparalleled (and much of that is due to OG keys master Mike Pinder!), but I love the 80's Moodies too - yes it was cheesier pop rock, but still excellent musicianship and singing (both of these are Justin - and his voice is always on-point!). Perhaps I'm biased being a child of the 80's, but I love it nonetheless. Your Wildest Dreams still places in my top 5 Moodies tracks - The Other Side of Life just picks up where that left off! Deep ups the cheese factor, but still so good. Thanks! Cheers!

After you heard Can-utility can you understand why live was difficult? The bass line! Mike was fantastic, but bass line was by Tony and it was a little complicated! Anyway, that song is the way to heaven for keyboards players: if you can play it you are... Tony Banks! I'm kidding! But I'm sure you understand what I mean. You are now possessed by Genesis, you can't take a step back! And it's a beautiful feeling, don't you? When you enter in Genesis music it's like a magic: something happened and you cannot say what it is: it is here, it is now.... (the lamb). I love your reactions about "classic" (1970-1980) Genesis. Not for Genesis music, but for your growing awareness. 😍😍😍😍😍

Music and memories are always a tight band. And Dance Little Lady Dance by Tina Charles rings a very special bell to me. It was back in October 1976, I just turned 13 a few weeks before, as my family and me were on a fatefull train ride through the night. I had my little AM pocket radio with me, I played with the station dial, held it to my ear and there it was - dance little lady dance. After 1,5 years of struggle with the East German communist authorities our family finally got the permission to leave the country permanetly and move to West Germany.

I saw The Who once, live, in Chicago, during the Quadrophenia reunion tour -brilliant! I have been a fan since 1979 (I am 55 years now) and have all albums, and a number of live concert DVD's to view Who. This song, very personal, sensitive, glorious, celebration. Pete would write introspective lyrics, and Roger would belt of the lyrics of emotion! Here, both singers do their alternate singing, and John and Keith keep it going with rhythm!

When this was released 1971, my best friends Ron, Roger and I picked the vinyl up at the local record shop and drove to Roger's parent's house and listened to it with such anticipation. His parents had a small cottage on their property and Roger made it his little den of musical delight with a great sound system and typical 60's-70's accouterments. As years passed, the entire album became a part of our best bud ritual every time we met and got together. Unfortunately, as we matured and found less time due to adult responsibility, the listening by our trio was reduced. However, this particular song, "The Song is Over," always reminded us of how life changes and nothing, ever, ever lasts forever. The love and respect between friends is a very powerful experience and we were fortunate we had the time together that we did. My friends are both deceased and although this song brought many tears to my eyes, I'd never trade those moments for anything. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Music is such a powerful medium. If only...................................
