John's talent and outlook were so unique. This is a terrific piece.

This has always been one of my favourite Beatles deep cuts. It exemplifies John's immense originality and the way that his huge personality comes across in so many of his greatest recordings. He had an extraordinary gift for keeping the essence of rock & roll intact while at the same time creating a more sophisticated development of it. (Rain is another great example.)

The lyrics in this jam just tear me apart 💔 "Things that make me feel like I'm mad!! & Your making feel like I've never been born" "When I was a boy, everything was right". "She said, you don't understand what I've said"....... 🎶🎶🎵🎶🔥✌️☮️🕊️❤️🩵 IMHO it's about a girl breaking his 💔

I think Rubber Soul and Revolver are John Lennon's two strongest albums. Memorable cuts such as "Norwegian Wood", "In My Life", "I'm Only Sleeping", She Said, She Said", "And Your Bird Can Sing", "Tomorrow Never Knows" and "Rain" (single from same recording period) are among his best.

This song to me, is the pinnacle of Ringo's drumming, especially with the time-signature changes. Just fantastic. Love the jangly guitar, too. Very ahead of its time.

For me it's Ringo's drumming on "Rain".

Strange but true. Paul walked out on this song because he didn't like it. So all the vocals are done by John and George. George also plays bass as well as guitar.

Forgot about this one. Almost an acid rock feel- since the song is about a conversation while on LSD, appropriate. RIP George Harrison and John Lennon Happy New Year to all

History of a song comes way after I hear & enjoy a song. “When I was a boy, everything was right” is what got my attention. Just old enough to appreciate my family & how enjoyable childhood is.

Nice song, yeah, sort of one foot in earliest Beatles and one foot in early psychedelic sound? It also sounds a bit like early The Who off their first album from about the same year, in particular the section where the lyrics are "cuz you're makin' me feel like I've never been born"?
@Tom-hk6ub17 күн бұрын

Always loved this song. For some reason, Paul was not in the studio when they recorded this. Either he didn't like it, or he just couldn't make it. George Harrison is on backing vocals. Happy New Year Brandon!!! 🎉🎉

False. It’s been discovered Paul had to have been on bass because of the way it was recorded. Also Paul is heard on studio outtakes for the song
@littlestevey417218 күн бұрын
@ewest14 Wrong. I Have no idea where you got your your info from, but from multiple sources he did not play on the song. I'm sure you won't believe me or anyone, but you're wrong. There are multiple sources in books as well, but I won't argue with you. "Paul McCartney was not present during the recording of the Beatles' song "She Said She Said" due to an argument over the song's musical arrangement. This makes "She Said She Said" one of the few Beatles songs that doesn't feature McCartney."
@dougsusie231918 күн бұрын
George played bass on this track as well as guitar. It was late in the day and Paul got upset because the track was taking to long and stormed out. John wasn't known for being paitent and told George and Ringo screw him and George took the bass part and killed it. Give his bass lines a closer listen, it's great.
@retroreactions....18 күн бұрын
Awesome info thanks!

False. It’s been discovered Paul had to have been on bass because of the way it was recorded. George was on guitar for the backing track, so Paul had to have been playing bass. If not Paul, then they got a 4th person to play bass that wasn’t Paul. Also Paul is heard on studio outtakes for the song

I love your thoughtful reactions. It's clear that "she" is Peter Fonda. I hadn't heard that Fonda was referencing a childhood experience. I always assumed he just got a glimpse of death at that party after dropping LSD.

In 1976, the Lone Star band released their first album titled "Lone Star". They included a cover of the song "She Said, She Said" by The Beatles. And this cover is one of the better ones than the original. The Lone Star cover is much, much better, and above all played completely differently, brilliantly. I definitely recommend it, also the entire Lone Star album.

Not early Beatles. It's mid Beatles less than 1 year to SGT. Pepper.
