Great Video! Ever considered checking out another Boundary District smelter? Namely Boundary Falls. Just north of Midway; must be close to "smelter road." I gather the slag pile is still there. Not so sure about any thing else! Keep up with the great videos!

@@glennscott9693 thank you for watching! We did not know about that one. We will be looking at going to find it for sure! This area is rich in history and we've barely scratched the surface. We did another one on the city of Pheonix just outside of greenwood. Was one of our first so audio is not perfect but still a gooder!

Had a friend who managed the old Coalmont hotel in Coalmont about 20 years ago. He eventually packed up and left and coincidently several thousand dollars in one, two, five and ten dollar bills that customers had pasted to the ceiling. I stayed there one time. The upstairs bedrooms were quite wonky but safe then. And the bar, was a wild time on a Friday night. The bar had a class one booze licence, a licence reserved in later years for large hotels. Apparently that licence is what kept people wanting to stay open. Alas, time gets us all.

I love history of this area. It would help if you could find some of the old railway grades. They are probably the most lasting artefacts.

I was at the cenotaph in Phoenix in Sept 1995 and it was really creepy . Absolute dead silent no birds chirping , no wind , imagine being in space or a vacuum it was lifeless .

During the first war, it was statistically more dangerous to work in the coal mines in BC than go to war. (Deaths per hundred thousand)
