If cormorants are edible then by all means eat them. Change the laws to let the fish survive.

Well done lads for your efforts. The culling of these birds should be mandatory. Just reading some of the comments on here and it really just shows how uneducated and pathetic people can really be

10 years later and this seems to have worked, there used to be huge roach, many 2lb plus and the occasional 3lber caught, then these fish passed away of old age and with very few young fish to replace them, the roach population almost disappeared, now in 2023 we are seeing more and more roach caught, with some between 1-2lbs.

They came to my tiny - 2000 square foot pond in California this January when the weeds had died and the fish were easy targets. The birds left dead large and small floating, dead fish. I drove the birds out right away except for the one that ate so much it couldn't fly.

Since when did a bird which is here because it flew here become a non native invasive!?! Are they supposed to apply for a UK passport FFS! Utterly pathetic. As a former angler I was disgusted at the ecological ignorance and vandalism of the angling community so it was one of the reasons I left it. I don't see any woody material or snags in the water which is vital for providing cover from predators, spawning sites and shelter from fast flows, but anglers don't like as it makes their fishing a bit more difficult.

Are cormorants not edible or what? If edible, they could replace 2 or 3 fish.

If this is about conservationism PLEASE don't use a chainsaw over the water, there's a lot of oil spoil coming from the chain and the woods wasn't thick at all, use a simple hand saw you lazy fucks.

Cormorants are native birds, they came here naturally, just like Canada Geese were starting to make their way into europe before we brought them over. By this logic, humans in america are invasive. These fish are wild, they're not owned by anyone or anything, to think that we're the only species that are allowed to benefit from nature is a very silly stand point.
