Okay...I know we need to keep things balanced. I'm not an idiot nor am I Eco-unfriendly. But this I also know... 30 plus years ago the Cormorant went on the "protected" list in my home state of RI. I also know that we've lost 90% of our Black Back Flounder stock in that same 30 years. Granted there are other contributing factors. But one must think just how much fry does one bird eat when they fish in same depths the young fish live in.

Cormorants should only enjoy protected status within 5 miles of the coast. Any further inland and they should be fair game. They are very common. Otters have been so over heavily re-introduced that they are even killing each other. Natural spread would have been fine, but the illegal release of Otters bought on the black market has really upset the balance. If you find a giant water weasels holt, you will not believe the stink.
