The title of this video should have been how to solve series circuit for dummies,because with your instructions i understood in 10 minutes what I couldn’t in my high school electrical class in a whole year prompting me to drop out of electronics and pursue a different trade ,now that I’m retired i want to find out why i just couldn’t grasp ohms law at that time and now with online instructors like you im finally understanding its principles,as the saying goes better late than never,thank you so much.

I have to admit, when I was going through basic E in aviation school, I could never get it down. No matter how hard I tried to make sense of it. Memorizing formulas was what caused me to struggle the most when taking the General writtens to go for my A&P license. When you explained how to rearrange Ohms law at 8:18 , that really made everything click perfectly in one shot. It's all the same formula just flipped in a circle and as the circle rotates you rotate the order of the letters to make the next formula. (that's how I interpreted it) That made me think of other formulas in the Ohms law such as the equation R=V^2/P and that if I rotated it over the equation to solve for Power would be P=V^2/R and if I rotated it once more than I would get the equation for voltage being V= Square Root of P*R. I never needed to memorize all 12 of the equations in Ohms law but just 4 of them for, 1 for each of the sets and then I could rotate each equation twice to get the remaining 8 formulas! Thank you dearly for all your help. You truly don't know how much this helps.

is it possible, for example, if its 30 degrees E of N, would you switch it so cos is y and sin is x? this is actually correct but I don't understand why they are switched.
@DMaciaga2 ай бұрын
@@salty_8840 Yes, in certain cases you can switch the sin and cos. It has to do with the orientation of the right triangle.
@salty_88402 ай бұрын
@ does it depend if it’s like E of N or W of S?
@DMaciaga2 ай бұрын
@@salty_8840 WoN, WoS, EoS, and EoN could all have cos for y and sin for x.

for getting theta, why did the negative -4.7 become positive in the fraction 18.1/4.7? shouldn't it still be negative?
@DMaciaga2 ай бұрын
The negative represents the direction of the vector, not the amount.

Your explination is good but a bit vague And confuses the student. You said "just add all Resistance whitch gives you 0.233" but never explain how you got it thus confusing the student. Next time try explaining a bit more on how you get those numbers. Whether it's by just simplifiying or converting a fraction to a Mix number. And also try to pick easy numbers to work with. Like base 10 numbers and such. It makes it easier to learn the process without having to overload on calculations. Everything else is awesome.
