The one thing I will not about your chop test: the Tramontina did seem to stick in the wood more than the Martindale. The convex "axe" grind on the Matindale may not bite as deep, but looked like it released and let you get ready for the next chop more easily.

Good review. I have a Garberg as well and I don't like the lack of finger block, particularly for the style of use it was designed to do. I opted for the 511 over the 546 initially because I liked the idea of throwing better sparks should the need arise, however it rusted far too quickly even in my very arid environment (which is odd as my Benchmade is high carbon as is my USAF survival knife and I haven't had trouble with those). I exchanged them for the 546, which as you note is identical save the blade material. One note here: The 511 I had (in 'military green') had a solid plastic handle, which is fine, but had planned on checking to improve grip further. The replacement 546 is a two-tone black/blue insert handle and it has a rubberized belly on the handle, which certainly improves grip. I think this may be a delta in the Craftline series (which contains both the 511 and 546). I've found that when in the outdoors, it is better to be safer than not, and as such it's easier to slip forward on a handle and onto the blade, so the more pronounced finger guard is welcome. Moreover, when your hands are more likely to be slick from sweat/dirt/water, or if you're a bit worn out from exertion the more pronounced guards are very welcome. These knives were actually designed for construction workers, so it makes sense that the added grip protection would be useful. I also prefer a shorter blade in this application.

The Swedish M44 military kit is super reliable. I would recommend you use wooden or bamboo spoon & spatula with the aluminium pot and pan. If any food does stick or burn, just heat a little water in that pot or pan. They should wipe clean without needing any scoured. Yes the Trangia burners can leak where they are crimped as you pointed out. They can be soldered to seal them. I use my M44 for motorcycle touring here in Australia. Thank you for sharing👍

I really like the blade stove, its really light weight, I prefer having spider legs rather than just a gas can to rest the pot on. The only thing I really hate is the mesh bag it shipped with, the legs get snagged all the time trying to get it out the bag. The gas preheat tube is working wonders now the temperatures are dropping, im not getting the spluttering effect from using cold gas any more, the mini stove is kinda ok for a small one but its not as good as my msr pocket rocket 2 stove, that thing is a beast.

Hello, I have a bottle of OSPREY 2022 from BCB do not mislead people, this company puts the original osprey it is easy to distinguish from a replica if there is a mug, it is glossy black and the bottle has markings on the bottom of england and CM/02 2 I do not think that they would bother with a replica and there does not have to be a lid with drinking through a gas mask there are also with ordinary covers on your 1990 there is a marking on the bottom of england CM/02 2 so this is the original but under the BCB brand.
@mountainbearoutdoors9 ай бұрын
bcb do reproduction bottles not osprey, if you can squeeze the plastic you have a repro, genuine osprey bottles have no flex in them at all. take it from someone who was issued them in the UK army.

buy an older one with the nato stock codes in my video and compare it to a BCB one, the BCB is thinner plastic, mine leaks as well, its a 58 pattern, IE they copied the original design.

@@mountainbearoutdoors I couldn't resist, I didn't wait for the new year, I unpacked it, it has 1100 ml, I filled it, turned the lid down, even stepped on it and it doesn't leak, and I also read on the forums that the older 90s had stronger plastic in them, I filled it to the top, stepped on it and nothing flowed, pressed it with my hands when it was filled and she is firm, if I may, proof that BCB makes replicas if I have written to them about this and am waiting for an answer.

So 1st off..thank you for the video! I have quite the collection of leatherman tools and know pretty much everything about them, but I still enjoy watching leatherman multitool videos. But speaking of the supertool..The only one I have in my collection is a newer supertool 300. The black version. Well late last night when I was searching ebay I apparently put an offer in for one that I don't remember doing! Lol. Got to work and when I grabbed my phone I had a notification from gmail about a paypal reciept for an order. I was all confused. Figured it out though lol. At least it was a good price and in very good condition. I just offered the guy a price on an auction that had a bid or best offer. He accepted it because I deff paid for it 😆 im glad though. It will be great to add to my awesome growing collection. Bought a leatherman mini multitool last night as well. Finally!! Very excited for that one!

You wont be disappointed, theres something about the older leathermans I really admire, they dont rust half as easily as the newer ones either and the slim form factor is a delight when it just slides into your pocket, I still have a huge liking for the original PST its small and just enough to get the job done.

i do find the debate on the legality of this knife a bit odd. It is legal end of, if an ignorant cop arrested you the surely the custody Sgt would send you on your way. If they were also a tool then the courts would sort it, came applies to any legal EDC knife though. I'm really thinking of getting one of these, looks like a very solid thing. How has yours stood up to the test of time? cheers
@mountainbearoutdoors Жыл бұрын
mines worked out just fine, the edge does take a little work now and again on the strop but overall its been absolutely solid. I do however still feel that you are asking to be arrested for producing it in public. the problem lies in the intent, if a member of the public feels fear or distress from your useage then it becomes a weapon in the eyes of the law.

@@mountainbearoutdoors thank you for your reply, I think I'll get one as everyone seems to rate the build quality.
